Sigh.. Airbrush parts?

ManicMan

Lord
okay, I know you can buy some parts but I'm not quite sure on this..

I picked up my Airbrush (still some paint cause it was doing some spraying earlier and if i'm gonna be doing a few coats, I don't clean it between times.. I see it as a waste of paint but... maybe I should but anyway.. I pick it up and gave it a little shake just to make sure none of the paint has started to get a bit hard and block it... I often do this though I don't know if it's any good doing it...

BUT.. the funnel bit went flying off.. and I'm not sure where it went ¬_¬ some how, it must have gotten a bit lose.. I can see a number of the nozzle parts for sale which is the bit that goes before the funnel... I'm not quite sure on the full name of all these parts.. and there are a few different types which... erm.. I have no clue about. various sizes and stuff.. I just use and have one bit which is fine for priming figures.. a bit small for doing large objects but still.

this is a picture of my little cheap one

you can see the two bits at the front which .. I'm not 100% sure on what you call the bit which attaches to the brush and has the hole for the needle, and then you have the funnel bit, and it's that funnel bit I appear to have lost..

cause I kinda need to get something sprayed.. I have kinda tried it without it and.. maybe but I don't know if it's any good for a long time. any advice? I'm kinda wondering about just designing and printing a replacement. not like it's some fancy high-grade thing ^_^

I assume you mean the crown (sometimes called the needle crown or needle cap), highlighted in lime green:

Not the paint cup, highlighted in orange. It looks on yours that is formed as part of the body (my Harder & Steenbeck is different and you can change the paint cups, yours looks like an Iwata style brush). Just wanted to be sure, since I've managed to loose my paint cup a couple of times under my desk when cleaning things!

You don't absolutely need a crown - it's there to protect the needle tip when you're being foolish and nose dive the brush! :)

There are a million ones of varying quality on amazon. My own brush has an open type:

Which lets you clean the needle more easily whilst painting, which I like.

ah, okay.. I know the cup bit, that makes sense well.. Cup or Well. the bit I said I wasn't sure on the name on was the bit that goes next to the crown (I guess that term makes sense. though funnel makes sense for me.. though it would be a backwards funnel as they are normally for input.. but oh well ^_^)

I wasn't sure if that kinda do something like 'it stops the spray from going all over the place' even though, what passes for my knowledge in physics says the tip of the needle won't allow the spray to go more then a certain degree of spray, and besides, the inside of that crown didn't get THAT covered in paint. ^_^

thanks. Generic online information is always iffy and if you don't trust the source, why are you reading it ^_^ So I prefer asking where there is a trustable source(s)
