Scratch built nurgling

Scalene

Baron
My 11 year old has been practising his sculpting and the nurgling on the right is his first scratch built model. It’s made entirely from green putty on a wire frame – he also painted it himself. If you look closely, you can see that it’s holding a loop of its own gut (ugh). The arms are formed around fine 28 gauge wire, with a thicker section through the middle of the body and looped over to form the head.

A really good job – he’s moving on to the second which promises to be equally disgusting.

That's a great start right there! At that age I was making Fimo Squigs, and they were nothing like that small or detailed!

Impressive ! If he's starting this good at 11 he'll be a beast in little time. Nurgle is the perfect point to start from I suppose, it is quite forgiving and you can go wild if you will. Congrats to him for his promising start and to you for such excellent parenting.

I liked it, then I read it was your 11 year old son now I love it.
Here's to the next generation :)

Thanks for feedback. He is most encouraged and is working on his second nurgling. This promises to be slightly more disgusting than the first.

I think he should be very proud of his efforts (as should you, Scalene - you've brought him up well!) and I look forward to buying his first commercial releases in a few years time.
