Hi everyone

Hope you all had as much fun as I did at the BOYL

Played my first couple of games of 3rd ed since the 1980s. One rule question came up when my gyrocoptor got shot down by the Orc stone thrower. What do people think should we have allowed it?

Can we machines target flyers?

That came up in a battle we had last year between elves and orcs. We ruled that the cannon and stone throwers could not target the elven dragon in the air. I would have said a bolt thrower or jezzail could, so depends on war machine.

i'd say that they could but with an appropriate To Hit modifier. If i'm an orc and i've got a stone thrower, a stunty flying machine is a beautiful target. going to be damn hard to hit though. in fact, for verisimilitude, perhaps the stone thrower will target flying machines and other prime targets over more sensible choices unless there is a boss orc nearby or an Ld test is passed.
