That lightning claw conversion is interesting. I think it's what appealed so much with the early GW plastics - just how easy it was to hack them. Not that metal was hard to work with, but the plastic was super easy. I guess it's why the mono-pose madness that followed was such a shock!

They were a joy to work with in the day. Combine them with Dredd miniatures, Dr Who plastics... Even WWII 1:35 kits! Very versatile and most importantly - fun!
