RT playtesting thoughts

I've been running some play-tests lately in preparation for the upcoming USA Oldhammer day.

I was thinking about limiting following fire to three rounds of shooting. I am not using battle manual or vehicle manual, but I may end up taking a little bit from vehicle manual just to add some effects to the game. Its not very satisfying to take a vehicle down to half its wounds and it still operates at full strength.

Any thoughts on following fire weapons? Has anyone developed house rules for RT vehicles that they enjoy?

On another note, I found that the psychic phase in RT really adds a new dimensions to the game. My play-testers were coming at it from the point of view of modern 40k, and they really enjoyed the psychic rules.

Following fiire limit sounds good.

You need to work out rules for alot of the broken grenades too, stuff like virus and toxin. Nerf them

I would also limit the psychics. Powers like temporal distort will ruin a game if used competitvely. maybe have your own chart for which powrs players can roll on? After all, telepathy onl works if you are doing a scenario driven RPG type game...

Sorry, should have mentioned this is for a scenario I am ru ning and i'm providing all the models.

Yes, temporal distort is hilariously over powered. I assigned psychic powers and psi levels to the psykers for the scenario, so there will be no temporal distort shenanigans. I am using telepathy and communicators to allow models to share line of sight.

Good point about Virus and Toxin......I don't know if virus and toxin are necesarrily broken, I guess in a competetive head to head game. I've assigned war gear to all the units for the demo, so it should keep the shenanigans down while still allowing players to enjoy everything RT has to offer.
