Once I have a bit more time, will see if I can get some closer individual shots up

Awesome, this is just the kinda stuff I need ATM. It'll help for my Space Wolf project

Could I ask you what your painting recipe was for the grey ones were? I'm going for the good old RT colour scheme too....no baby blue marines for this lead head

Oh, and the transfers on the grey marines, did you freehand them or paint yellow on their shoulder pads before applying the transfer? I'm thinking of free-handing mine completely, but I'm not sure yet.

Cheers :)

Thanks guys, glad yo like em

The Grey is a base of VMC german grey over black and then highlighted by mixing in VMC neutral Grey and London grey, I use a wet pallet and mix in the highlight into the base, so the end result is somewhere between Neutral/London grey and German Grey.

For the shoulder pads, I paint them Yellow first, then do a coat of gloss, apply the transfers, Vallejo decal medium and then pick out the " Endure" letter and then do the grey.
I've freehanded a space wolves symbol white on black on one my scouts, but I'm not brave enough to attempt any red on yellow freehand

excellent! From before they became space-vikings.

yep that's the idea, pre fluff Spacewolves, won't be using any space wolf specific minis, and I'm diregarding all the fluff post Book of Astronomicon, the army will eventually include stuff like techmarines, librarians and chaplains and such. Really trying to do a Spacewolf army like it would have been during the Rogue Trader days

Nicely done. I keep considering backdating my own SW army. It's a bit of a mixed bag. Some pre, some post. (Since I collected marines continuously from early RT days until sometime in the second edition and they were always Space Wolves. Thus I have them in camo . . . and in full viking.) My best option might just be downplaying the viking business a little. But in an ideal world . . . I like your version quite a lot. Maybe better.

I nearly jumped into the screen to get closer to these bad boys. I love em, The proper SW grey colour and camo marines. I have always loved these plastic beakies, just so much character. The old injured marine always makes me lough when ever I see him staggering about.

Im also doing a camo squad for my rainbow warriors, its a true "nod" to RT.
