Rogue Trader Salamanders Devastators

Well I have had another busy hobby weekend and am pleased to have finished a five man heavy weapons squad for my 1980s Rogue Trader Army. These guys are all the same lead model from 1988 so I have tried to add variation by giving each trooper individual markings.

I am doing a few heavy weapons squads at the moment in order to bring this 80's force in line with the army lists for Horus Heresy 30k. There are more pictures of these troops and other 80s stuff on my blog if you fancy visiting for a read:

Let me know what you think.

Very nice work, the different markings turn them all into individuals and having the same pose reinforces the image of their disciplined and relentless advance.

Cheers mate. I tend to agree, heavy weapons troopers in particular can get away with the mono-pose nature as they all look like their bracing their weapons for a disciplined volley of heavy fire. If they were assault models then it would probably be a bit harder to get away with mono-pose models!

Nicely done. I've always liked that model. Not quite sure how you managed to afford five of them, but I was buying them on HS allowances and off again on again part time work. They look great. Love the subtle but effective mod to the . . . I'll presume "leader."

Nice model - I love that heavy bolter. I think there's an identical piece of artwork in the original chapter approved. Your paint job does it justice too

Cheers guys! It took me a few years to acquire these five models ... I probably won't be increasing the squad size to the possible ten!

As for the mod, it's amazing what a difference something as simple as filing off the shoulder studs can make to the aesthetic of the miniature!

Cheers for the kind words guys

Cheers lads. I've recently started to go even lighter with the highlights and I really think it brings out the definition in the models. I think I'll stick with this technique.
