Rogue Idol

Glad someone agrees, but i know some of the Oldhammer crowd are not into massive models, i always loved the big stuff.

Unlike some of the FB groups, everyone here is more into the spirit of the game, conversions, scratch builds and getting things painted rather than arguing about what is and what isn't Oldhammer.

As the gobbos say: "We is da best!"

how big is it?

6x4 inch base, about 12.5 inches to the top of the head 13.75 top of horns.
I'm calling it "Medium sized" for now as i might go bigger.

In a world where even GW is doing off the shelf 8 inch giants the standard Forgeworld idol (at what 4.5-5 inches? ) doesn't really cut it as your big center piece model for the army.

Very cool idol.

FWIW the Forge World giant (https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Warhammer-Giant) is about 9" tall apparently. A runt compared to this piece of mountain-side!

Making the Idol half the height of the giant in the same range of models. That just seems way too small for what it is supposed to be, to me this seems like one of the ideas that GW should have just left for us to make our own models, Hellpit Abomination being another.

Yep, just measured my FW Rogue Idol and he's a puny 5" roughly top to bottom. Still feels like a good chunk of stuff in the hand, but not quite the moving mountain you might imagine! I guess maybe with the scale creep over the years some of these larger models are now starting to look a little small?
