Recommendations for android games please!

So my wife bought me an android tablet for my birthday. So far Lego Star Wars Chronicles is popular with the kids, but I could use some recommendations for decent sci-fi & fantasy games.

So, what should I take a look at?

Cheers!

Space Hulk, Chainsaw Warrior and Warhammer Quest I believe all have Android versions. Talisman might have a Android version (Could be just Ipad though)

Warhammer quest does not (or did not, I haven't checked recently). I've not looked for the other ones you mentioned though.

I can recommend Talisman, it's pretty decent.

Chainsaw Warrior was a bit crap, to be honest. I haven't seen a proper Space Hulk.

If you like roguelikes, please check out Pixel Dungeon. It's splendid!

Mage War is a really nice turn based tactical combat game.

Hero Mages is a very good "board game". Should appeal to a BB fan like you. Even better if you have a mate to play agains (it supports asynchronous play, which means you can play a turn when on the bus, and then your mate plays his turn whenever he's able, and so it goes).

No Warhammer Quest I'm afraid. Anyone who has an iOS device should get Hunters 2 though, by the same company who did WHQ. Not as slick, but tighter game play.

Disclaimer; All my mobile gaming is either done on the crapper at work or during my commute to work. All the games I've recommended are especially suited for that kind of play. You might wear them out much quicker if you're sitting up all night playing them. =) But each and every one of the games I've recommended have been played on a daily basis by me, for at least an hour a day, for several weeks each.

A lot of the early Final Fantasy games are available on android in a redone, 3d style that looks great and is very playable, if a little taxing on batteries. If you want some major old school impossibly challenging rpg action, you could try The Lords of Midnight, it got an android rerelease not so long back and will have you growing a beard just so you can tear it out in blind frustration (the guy who wrote it believed it was impossible to win the game, but was proved wrong after a few weeks...). It smacks very heavily of Lord of the Rings, and is probably the closest you'll come to a complete break-down inducing experience much like what dear Frodo went through ;)

Warzone Anomaly is a pretty fun "reverse tower defense" with very nice production values. There's a sequel too, which I think is on Android. It ran fine on my crappy old phone so I imagine on a tablet, it should fly.

If you like role playing games there is "Avernum" which is dungeon crawl... very good. Theres is also the AD&D game "Baldurs Gate" which has been converted from pc to android which is brilliant. And if you like sci fi then there is "Shadowrun Returns" which is excellent.

l have tried lots of other games but was generally underwhelmed by them.

You can get the FF "Sorcery" game books on android to.

All avaliable on google play.

Hope that helps.

Oh and I've read that you can play old PC games (like Baldur's and especially Fallout too) on android tablets too. If this is true, you will be released from my presence, it's 5 yeras I haven't been playing any of the firts 2 fallouts and this itch needs a scratch...

I can't seem to find Baldur's Gate (perhaps this is a blessing) but I can definitely recommend Avernum, a really absorbing game with loads of quests etc
