Recasts?

I have more then few that I think are recasts. I bought this one some time ago and few chaps told me he might be a recast. I have read in Warhammer 3rd rulebook advice from author that you should look and buy the best looking with crisp details hehe so this might be original. Few things that bugs me are that this miniature is pretty thin. Wing on his helmet is not chipped but it's got little round edges and I saw those before and it's usually shortage of material, same goes for tab. Axe? Sword hand had vent between knuckles? This is one, more to come I think, just to find them...

With the base incomplete and the ends of the 'horns' missing, it's definitely a miscast, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a recast. They were usually melted down and remade, but they did get through, especially with fiddly looking sculpts like Bob's were.

Looking at the level of detail, it's pretty much identical to others I've found by googling, so either they're all recasts or none are!

Yes, I was puzzled when I saw melting bits but chainmail got nice details. Thank you for your time.

You could chop the mismoulded wing as if it has been cut off in one of the (no doubt) many fights this guy has been in!

This is strange one. Combing internet for images I never saw that it has hole between arm and torso. Details are crisp but on the staff is very strange mould seam? Little bit off and I saw those before. Recasts, most of them, that I saw are smaller and thinner. Like recaster put something thicker between two moulds and when they cast it's automatically thinner. This is the only one of this type that I have so I can't compare. I even weight them hehe i don't know what difference is between those miniatures that are made with lead/white metal and just white metal as I understand they switch later excluding lead.

This guys. On the left is recast. Smaller overall, thinner when looking from side and horrible mould line. Recast, miscast and unfortunate, all at the same time hehe
