I'm not asking about places to do it or anything (Isn't it technically not chrome but Vacuum Metalizing? as I understand the real Chrome process, it would screw up the plastic a treat.. anyway, it's often referred to as chrome even if it isn't really) but I've never understood this.. Okay, I've had the odd things (like a nice model kit which came with some grey plastic in both normal flat grey OR chrome style depending on how you wanted to build the kit) while it might be okay at times, if you 'chrome' a sprue, isn't it just a HUGE waste of money? Sure people seam to think it's special and will play more if you have chromed say, an old Space marine plastic sprue but.. lets think..
IF you are going to paint it, then it doesn't make a jot of difference.. If you aren't.. you are gonna display it on the sprue? probably not.. though maybe.. If you aren't.. oh dear.. You really think you can cut it off the sprue and file down the sprue connectors without having nasty missing sections of 'chrome' all over your figure?
some 'collectors' will do anything just to own something pointless and overpriced...
sorry, just felt like randomly rambling on this.. anyone think I got anything wrong? like some way to remove them from a sprue which doesn't wreck the 'chrome' (which is impossible cause it's doesn't bleed into the plastic.. just get the stuff cast in silver plastic ¬_¬) or anyone like them? displays 'chromed' sprues etc?
