Project Epic

I didn't get to play the original Space Marine back in the day, my first Epic stuff came with the second Edition in late nineties. However, it's been a shameful amount of time since I last played this, though at least I've been buying some stuff.
I think it's time I begin to give some love again to these 6mm tiny men ;)

If I'm beginning this thread, why not doing it with something special? Some time ago (when I use "some time" most probably it's measurable in years ) I got this beauty, an Imperator Titan:

I got it at a reasonable price, you can see what happens with the spires and stuff. But that's no match to the magic of Oyumaru ;)

Far from Red Era, I'm trying blue here:

I'm also avoiding gold, I think all the ornaments are gonna be grey/white or black, still have to check what works better here.

This is it so far! I think I'll be able to show it finished in a few days! For the moment, here you have the blog post:

More coming soon!

Wow great paint job. Back in those days they were nearly always painted red.
Playing with them was a bit over the top as these monsters tend to dominated smaller games. But on the other hand they were lots of fun...
....especially when playing against their orcish counterparts

Thanks, guys! I finished it a few days ago, my bad I didn't post over here. I kept it blue & white, nothing too flashy:

The slight touch of colour was added with letters. I thought that, being a walking cathedral with guns, i could use some inscriptions, the kind you may find on some big churches:

So that gave me the name for the beast, Miserere Nobis, I think it has the powerful war-torn ecclesiastic touch. This is the final result:

And here it is with some infantry:

Asslessman suggested I should have used more colours, but I liked the restrained palette. Now my only chance is painting a full Legio and see how it works! Dammit, I blame you, JB!

You can find it all on the blog:

Aaagh! I hate you all!
I have a Warlord, but eBay has gone crazy about Warhounds or Titans in general (sob, sob). Ahhh, patience is the key...

Well, don't say I don't listen to you , here you have my (first) Warlord Titan ;)

It's the new model, the one released for Epic (the 3rd edition, late 90's). I had to strip it and start from the beginning:

I just followed the scheme I had previously used for the Imperator Titan (blue and some white), but trying to adapt it to the so different design:

After some mumblings I finally came to this result:

The stripes were something I came up with after some thoughts about how could I add some colour without painting random pieces in white. I believe they kinda fit in the general scheme of the Titan.
I've called this one Bellator Rex (Warrior King), being the functional head of the Legio in most of its actions, the Imperator being only summoned for the most desperate occasions.

Here you have the two (very) different Titans:

You can have a look at everything here at the blog:

So this is the beginning of my Legio! (Still have to think of a proper name...) More stuff eventually to come!

Haha, thanks, I'm coming back to path, slowly, but firmly

Here you have my latest additions, I got these two on eBay:

I stripped them and got them into blue and white, as the other Titans:

Nothing too complicated, as usual. I dared to do some stripes on the shoulderpads of one of them to give a visual sense of coherence with the Warlord. So here you have Venator Intrepidus (Fearless Hunter) and Tronitus Hastam (Thunderspear):

The familiy pic so far:

You can find it all over here:

I'd like to have a couple of Warhounds, the Lucius pattern, but the escalation of prices is quite a madness right now, so I may wait a little or end up buying some proper old models, still to see...

Time to bring some infantry in! I have three armies: Space Marines, Orks and Chaos. Marines will need less work to be up to duty, so I'll be starting with them. In fact, most of my infantry will remain just as it is now. I have two Battle Companies from the Ultramarines, following the Codex Astartes (six Tactical Squads, two Assault Squads and two Devastator Squads). My original plan was assembling the whole Chapter, but you know, I scattered through too many things and in the end I only have these two.
Here you have the Second Company:

(If only I knew how to take decent pics you'd see the squad marks and numbers)

Third Company too:

Both of them:

I now need to repaint and base some Termies, Scouts and Librarians:

Her you have them at the blog:

I also need to repaint all the vehicles (a few Rhinos, Predators, a Thunderhawk...) Hope it can be anytime soon!

The correspondent vehicles, as promised ;)
I managed to finish them by the end of the year, but didn't have the chance to take decent pics!

So I got these Rhinos:

Land Raiders:

Whirlwinds:

Predators:

Vindicators:

And the Thunderhawk:

Not a long story behind these, I've kept them with pretty basic details, but enough for tabletop distance

Not my last post on Marines, I just got a new batch, so in a few days I hope they'll be on their way home (mwahaha...)

Great models. I really like that paint scheme. Looks like a fast growing army of Ultra Marines together with their own Titans...
