Postage Woes

So, I've sold on eBay for years and I was recently blown away by the latest hike in U.S. postage. Back in 2012, I could get a mini overseas for around $3.50, with the latest hikes, that is now up to $13.50!! :o

Anyone find any strategies or workarounds for getting minis into the hands of hobbyists without killing them with shipping costs? I'd rather not pass ridiculous shipping rates on to collectors.

I ship in small padded envelopes from Walmart. I shipped two minis the other day to Sweden for 3.00, and a couple of months ago 5 minis to France for under five. Go to USPS and mess around with the postage estimates. You can usually find away to ship pretty cheap. ;) Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip & I'll check those out. I'm currently using padded envelopes, but the postal nazis in my neck of the woods won't let them go over as "large envelopes", which would be far cheaper.

Really Tom? Since January the price has gone through the roof for small packages. Now a 1-8oz "Package" (which includes padded envelops) to England starts at $13.50....sigh

Were you shipping as a large envelop? I'm sure that is cheaper but I've had several attempts at shipping individual figures this way rejected because by definition a "Large envelop" is supposed to be less than 1/4 inch thick and completely flexible...both hard to achieve characteristics when shipping figures.

The only solution I can find Naagruz is to limit sales to within the US. If you are FB capable try the Citadel Fans Buy, Sell, Trade group...it is made up of mostly North American folks.

Cheers,

Blue

Thanks for the suggestion Blue. I have tons of older Citadel stuff I'd like to work into trades if possible.
