planet 28

Does anyone know any good blogs about the game? Planet 28 tag on Instagram is filled with Wh40k and other stuff due to people shotgunning tags.

there seems to be surprisingly little coverage. very few youtube videos or discord server as far as i've been able to see. there is apparently an active facebook group, but i don't use meta.

Very weird. I guess something about the game isn't very inviting. Perhaps it's hard to match miniatures to the style or maybe it's the mechanics?

just fashion i suspect. the indy games that really catch on seem to have the creator really pushing them on social media etc. others have their moment and then get replaced by the next one to come along.

The author doesn't seem to do much promotion for it. Maybe he's too busy being an art professor or whatever he does. Though it's still sort of a waste to make a game and not get it going.

Or maybe there's simply too much overlap with Wh40k. Like for example why would anyone actually want to play it over let's say Kill Team or even Rogue Trader unless one specifically wants to avoid GW products?

Like for example my main interest in this kind of games is that I specifically want something similar but non-GW and not OOP.

I often have a bit of apathy with a case of 'Do I really want to invest this much into a new game system which I have bugger all people to play with'. Doesn't fully stop me buying some bits as I have a few games which I'm either never gonna play or not much chance, but still.. I is something which crosses my mind so I need something to push me to have a go. I guess when they do the 'rule book only' systems, there are kinda more interest because less of an investment in time and money. While I love painting miniatures, having ones which are only really good for one game can be a problem as it adds to the money and time.. when the system allows pretty much anything, it's much better. With Planet 28 being a rulebook system, it's much easier (also cheaper) to get into but.. nothing really grabs me.. while i have nothing against sci-if games, I'm not a huge player of them.. (which is a shame cause Sci-fi terrain is SOO much easier and a wider range to make.. Fantasy very much limits alot of stuff.

Guerilla Miniature Games did a 3 part battle report of the scenario from Death on Periphery addon but played it as if it happened in Wh40k setting, using Wh40k names. I wonder if it has set bad example.
