Painting Log by Rafal Maj

Hi,
My name is Rafal Maj. I've been painting and playing Warhammer fantasy since 1996. I've started in times of 5th edition. I really loved those days. I was young but had no money for all those fancy minis. My dad bought me first Orc Boyz.
I miss those days. Collectiong old Warhammer minis is somekind of going back there in my mind. Like a trip to the good old times.

I'm collecting mostly Orcs & Goblins but I have various Warhammer minis including 40k or even other brands. My freind collects old Chaos.
I'll be showing here some of my work. It would be mostly 4th edition of Warhammer and next ones. Bu I have some models form earlier editions too.

So I'll be painting those and showing them here. I've started this post because I really need some motivation to finish my army. My minis are all metal silver. And I need them painted!
I've already painted some of those older minis for my customers, so I'll put them in with next post. But then I'll move to my army.

Best Regards
Rafal Maj

Hi Rafal, I get where you're coming from with "young but had no money for all those fancy minis" and "like a trip to the good old times", looking forward to some greenskins and or whatever else you have in the pipeline :)

OK, here is a unit of Night Goblins I've painted some time ago. They were sold on eBay in times I needed some more cash. I do regret this now but I still have some of those The-Best-Night-Goblin-Sculpts-Ever minis.
To see bigger photos please click the image. The link goes to my blog. You can also check other minis I've painted there. I'm painting usually most current Warhammer models. So you might be interested in that.

Let me know if this way of posting my stuff is OK for you. I prefer to post smaller pictures and link them to bigger ones. The advantage is that you don't have to wait long to upload this site. It would also save you some scrolling as all my pictures are really long. I combine multiple shots into one long image. You will see that when I post more painted stuff.

I'm still waiting for some minis I've bought on eBay recently. But I already know my schedule. My first unit would be 5 Wolf Riders with shortbows.
I'm going to paint a whole 4th-5ed edition Common Goblin Tribe including Wolf Riders, Wolf Chariots, Grom, Infantry and Doom Divers.

My plan is to paint about 5 minis per week.

Just uploaded new mini. Nazgob the Orc Shaman. This mini was released somewhere in late 5ed I guess. He was taking a part in Idol of Gork campaign. I love this mini. There's also a short full HD video presenting the model.
Check it out. Click the image.

More to come soon.

Ha! My wolf riders have arrived. Now I have complete army.
This army would consist of:

1 Grom the Paunch of Misty Mountain

1 Goblin Big Boss on Wolf
1 Goblin Big Boss on Foot
1 Goblin Battle Standard Bearer on Foot
1 Goblin Shaman on Foot

25 Goblins with Hand Weapons and Shields and Full Command

10 Wolf Riders with Spears and Shields and Full Command
5 Wolf Riders with Shortbows
5 Wolf Riders with Hand Weapons and Shields

2 Chariots
2 Doom Divers

This is only for metal minis. I'll make a totally different army using current plastic models.
It would take a while as I'm planning to paint 5 models a week and stuff like chariots and doom divers are considered to be 5 models.
But This would give me some potential in battles. Next step would be to go with a unit of 25 Black Orcs and 1 Necksnapper. As I already got last mini from this set which is Big Boss. So those are ready too and I might to go with painting both units at the same time as I really need some extra hitting power like Black Orcs in my army. But I'll cover it in my next post.

Oh And one more thing. The mini that stands there as a Goblin with Axe 1 is actually a Night Goblin model. I still need this one to have complete collection. So if you have a spare model I could swap or pay for it.
