So unless you been hiding in some dark and smelly place like France (Disclaimer: I love my Frenchies really :grin: ) then your'll know Oakbound Games has released some Marsh Demons and these are my first painted ones ( Better pictures when I get my new cam I promise).

These have been a joy to paint, even more so then the Citadel Fimir and Bloodmoon's Bog Raiders.

Congratulations on being the first to paint these wonderful figures (apart from Fimm himself, I suppose)!

What weapons did you use?

The Champion has a Orc Warlords Axe and the Tiarna has a Minotaur Axe. All my Fianna Fimm use Minotaur/Orc weapons as it gives them extra height and bulk.

Testing out the new cam, still learning how to use it and the light indoors isn't very good. (Found the macro, but other settings need to be changed and worked out)

I really like the skintone of your fimirs Chico, what's your secret recipe? The whole unit looks good and not mismatched. Seeing a pic with all kinds available could be fn (from LE fimir to Fimm's going through the metal citadel and the HQ ones)

As far as light is concerned , I'm really no pro but having 2 desk lamps works quite well if you don't have enough ambiant light (you can get very good result on a sunny day with just ambiant light but now is not the time) macro mode also means you don't hold the camera yourself or your shaking will make any pic blurry.


oh and by the way, nice Malal touch, make sure you post the finished unit in the Malal Thread ;)

Heh I'm sure I'd figure out the cam, its not a great one though (Better then I had though hehe)

Fimir Skin is VGC Charred Brown, GW Nuln Wash, Block colour VGC Charred Brown, then 3 mixes of VGC Charred Brown and GW Foundation Calthan Brown with each mix adding in more Calthan. Final highlight is Calthan mixed with GW Foundation Dheneb Stone. I find the foundation paint drys differently to other paints and leaves a soft finish.

Thanks for the recipe, might try it when occasion pops for beatsmen. I agree fondation paints can actually be intersting for highlighting, I like using Chardon granite to highlight black for instance (with a black was afterwards it really helps if I don't want the grey effect).

After spending the last week painting my Necromunda Gangs I've jumped back to painting my Marsh Demons/Fimir.

I was lucky to be given an LE Fimir sculpted by Jes Goodwin and only 1 of 2 human-sized Fimir made with the other being the Heroquest Fimir aka Fimm Warrior. Next to him is a Marsh Demon Thrall with a Ungor mace.

Great stuff Chico, I plan on starting my Marsh Demon set in the next few weeks and am clueless as to what scheme I will end up using-food for thought here.

I always thought Fimir and Slaanesh were a natural combo... hence my Fimir fluff has Slaanesh as their great corruptor and my army has a unit of Slaaneshi-influence female warriors who have, erm, volunteered their services to the Bog Monsters....



Oh dear, now even I am worried about me! :shock: :?

I am starting to think the Oldhammer model should be an Amazonian Genestealer-Fimir hybrid Slanneshi Cultist (with Mohawk).

Have I left out any of the GW rapist themed models?
