Original Lizardmen?

I was watching Journey to the Center of the Earth the other day and it revived an interest I've had in the old Warhammer Lizardmen. NOT the pseudo-Aztec Slann inheritors but the original nomadic subterranean Lizard-folk the Slann bullied and pulled into service sometimes. The Cold Ones, Troglodytes, Lizardmen and Lesser Lizardmen... a mix of races.

I'd imagined small games where Slann and Lizardmen allies explore caverns to round up new recruits. I though I might dig up some Chronopia Stygians to use as alternate (non-Aztec) figures.
Also the original Karnac background that had him and the lizardmen burrowing up in a dwarf stronghold and battling on for a century or more. An excuse to have smaller skirmish-sized raids over the terrain of dwarf halls.

Does anyone know of any expansive fan write-ups of this race? Any characters besides Karnac.
I'm curious to see what folks might have done with them, if anything.

I haven't come across any fan stuff, but the early Tom Meier box sets had little scenario sheets. I can scan them for you if you like?

Oh! thanks for pointing out Eldritch Epistles, a new resource!
I have those original Lizardmen inserts but there are others there I was missing... or only had the first page of (SOL seems to often only have the first page).

I have the D&D Tamoachan module but it's been ages since I read it... I suppose if I'm going that route there are loads of old D&D modules featuring cavern-dwelling lizardmen that could be expanded into skirmish battles.
I like that idea more and more as I think on it...

Since it seems Citadel/GW never went further than those inserts and Karnac's Raiders it's a subject wide open for extrapolation (not that 'official' write-ups would curtail that anyway).

Journey to the centre of the earth would make a great campaign...
It's been a long while since I read the book but at the climax of the movie... when they finally find the skeleton of the explorer whose route they've followed... there are ruins of some ancient civilization... and giant lizards in costumes (dinosaurs)... but the dinosaurs have a sinister air to them... like forgotten gods being awakened.
That aspect of it also reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft's old bit of ghost writing, The Mound... about a Spaniard adventurer who digs into an old Native American earth mound and ends up deep in the earth among a forgotten civilization with psychic powers and very cruel habits... who seem to be leaning toward worshipping Tsathoggoa, the extraterrestrial toad demon/god.
Which kindasorta leads me back to thoughts of the Slann.
Anyway, I find the idea of the old-school lizard men, wandering in their Underdark world increasingly intriguing and creepy.

I once did a Space 1889 (long) scenario based on Edgar Rice Burrough's "At the Earth's Core". I 'researched' the scenario by watching the 1976 film (Doug McClure) and reading a tatty copy of the novel, then I made and/or painted a bunch of 15mm figures for adventurers and natives and dinosaurs. It was great fun. I bet all the stuff is up in the loft somewhere. I was always doing stuff like that - I would buy the rules and LOADS of scenario/background extra books then instead of using any of those extra books I would make my own scenario/background based on something else! Silly me.
