Orcus, Prince of Undead

Did this guy as part of a commission. I think 1980 qualifies as old school. Heritage Miniatures Orcus. About 75mm tall from hoof to wing tip and quite a chunk of metal. Rather enjoyed painting it up even if it did take a bit longer than I'd first hoped.

I think he looks more cute than evil.

Lovely painting, I agree he looks more cute than evil but he is very faithful to the depiction in the AD&D monster manual isn't he? (lost my copy years ago)

I can't really explain this, but he looks like he is made of plastic to me

Regardless, nice work!

I must admit, when I saw Orcus I was hoping for a different mini (one I remember from little black and white pics in WD many many years ago)
Lovely paint job though :)

aaaahhhhh....yeah he is a cute lil guy isnt he... I think he could be worked up as a Slaanesh Daemon quite easily...

Excellent work as always!

Lovely miniature, it's true the model seems a little too cute but after all, isn't it meant to be deceiving and treacherous like any good devil? I like the cool colour for hair/ warm colour for skin contrast.

@Blue : PLease don't mention the manbearpig lightly with Seán and myself around, we do not need the temptation or any other distraction for the time being... ;)

(whispers to himself : you will NOT do a Malal manbearpig, you will NOT do a Malal manbearpig, you will NOT ...)

+1

We have a hair trigger for silly side projects.

I love your painting stone cold. Really nice. This model looks totally stupids and roughly sculpted, and you have anaged to make it look cool and believable! Great textures on the fur and wings.

Well done! Suitable red demon color to boot.
That mini was the very one that scared my cousins off of playing D&D. Skulls, pentagrams, & goat-heads oh my!
