Orctober miniature giveaway.

Great initiative Erny! I was hoping to do an Orc du jour series of posts on my blog for orctober, but my hobby mojo went out the window sometime during the summer when I disappeared into a haze of cigar smoke which since then have been my main interest and hobby.

As the cigar smoking season have come more or less to an end my interest in little toy soldiers have been reinvigorated so yesterday I actually sat down for the first time in long long while tinkering with my toys. Prepped a few minis for speed painting, getting a game or two of Hero Quest in on saturday and need some more minis painted up for a complete set.

Plan for today is to finish the troopers for my original pre-slotta Harboth's to be used as the 8 orcs in HQ this weekend. They are, after all, more or less done. Some highlighting details, skin on a few, then it's a done deal. Those were for the first painting challenge we ran here.

Well then just in time! I know you like your mono-pose figures so the first lot of stuff I'm giving away would be right up your alley and you have a decent Orc post in the bag already! Even if you don't want the orcs still looking forward to see what you eventually made of Harboth's.

I didn't realise there was a season for smoking cigars...

Outdoors. When below 5 deg celsius in the evenings a good 60-90 minutes sitting on your ass outdoors isn't really that great. =)

Might have to see what I can rustle up too...

Good to see you back Phreedh - been meaning to send you those placcy Dwarves and other bits.

What better time to send Dwarves out than Orctober...

8 orcs finished (today's goal) - but they need basing before I can be bothered to photgraph them. =) Have 3 gobbos (Olley pointy hat chaps, had 3 done - so saving time), 4 chaos warriors, 2 mummies, 3 fimir and the dreaded not-Blood Thirster prepped and ready for the primer tomorrow. Which means I'll have wednesday, thursday and friday to finish 13 minis to a table top standard. Heh. I crack myself up! That's about the annual total for me so far this year. Granted, the warriors will get a metallic armour job so those will be done in an evening. Mummies will be quick too. Fretting over the gobbos and blood thirster though, a bit more detailed.

Thants: No stress with the stuff. Really. I don't even remember what it was. Am I supposed to send you anything?

Is this 25th deadline a strict one, my orks could benefit from a couple of hours in the WE to get finished... pleeeease

Thanks for the reminder, Mssr Sans-butt! Probably won't have the opportunity to finish my remaining Harboth's for that deadline. Oh bother!

See Erny? you definitely can't keep such a deadline, you have to give us the week end, otherwise you'll lose entries of 2 marvellous contestants !

I've finished painting my orcs, bases are in the works. I'll be able to finish them before Orctober is over! Yay me! Might miss Erny's deadline, but I finished them. Well, except for the tardy musician who is still taking a bath in the stripping jar.

And just to prove that I did it, here are the final five orcs missing from my Orctober set. Finished just some 30 minutes ago. =D

And the lot:

Temporary photos, until I get around to photograph and post them up on the blog. Now, all I have to do is to clean up the musician and finish that too and I'll have a full set of original Harboth's Black Mountain Boys. =)

Just seen these Phreed, they look awesome love the skin tones very smooth. They are going to be causing your adventures no end of misery.

Oh and for get the dead line put in place because I thought I was going on holiday to a place with some internet connection rather than none. Anything posted in Orctober itself counts I guess seeing how I posted very little myself. Grr.
