Oldhammer Weekend - responsibilities and requirements

Given that we are now just 1 week away (!) I thought it might be worth starting a thread to address a couple of areas:

1. If you have some sort of "responsibility" over the weekend (e.g. GM'ing, bringing scenery etc) then it might be worth making yourself known so that other members know who to contact if needs be. Just letting us know what games you will be playing does not need to go here.

2. Do we need to consider what stuff we might need to bring along that isn't already at Foundry or we may need more of, e.g. dice, tape measures, templates, rulebooks etc?

For my part I will be providing a subset of encounter rules for Rumble in the Jungle, and possibly asking members for loans of figures for the game itself (you have been warned!) although Padre is the main GM for the game. I will also be bringing cameras, a dictaphone and a camcorder to make a post-event multimedia experience :)

I have a bag of dice I could bring, plus hard copies of WH 3rd, WH Armies and Rogue Trader etc.

cheers
Steve

Hi Steve

I'll be posting up the 'official' activities tomorrow, as there have been some changes just based on numbers and availability.

That said, if you (that is, anyone reading this, not just Steve) believe you have an activity, please do post, as Steve has a good point.

Regards
Gaj

Thanks Gaj.

Dan and I will be bringing copies of Slaves to Darkness, Warhammer 3, dice, tape measures and all the gubbins to run the RoC game on the big table. I will be publishing a guide on how the game will run, how to create a warband roster (we don't have army lists!) and will play and record a practice mini battle to explain how its going to work. We will both be GMing the game as its quite big.

Looking forward to seeing your snaps Steve, as ever, but I wasn't expecting video! Will it be like Beasts of War in style? More like Old Gits of War knowing us!

All being well, I'll be playing Nico over the course of the weekend in a BIG game of stop the Horde! (3rd Ed Warhammer, Nico's preferred rules). To which any body else can join-in, during the course of the game.
Also providing a Lizardman/Slann contingent for the Rumble in the jungle game , if Padre still wants them?
I can and will provide terrain, models, dice & rules, all I think I need is: a 8x4 table and space to organize the boxes of stuff, good company, food & drink, and other players of a similar mind-set to play the game.
If, a problem with the above - I'm sure both Nico & I will happily join-in with whatever others want us to do?

See you there

Paul Golgfag1

I shall be bringing my Blood Bowl stadium, a couple of teams, everything needed to play and a set of rules.
I shall also be bringing some scenery, approx 40 Amazons, 30 Norse and some Lizardmen for the Rumble in the Jungle. (SO THERE WILL BE A COUPLE OF EXTRA CONTINGENTS FOR OTHERS WHO DO NOT HAVE MINIS FOR THIS GAME BUT WOULD LIKE TO JOIN IN).
I shall also be bringing the figures as we discussed via PM for Steve.
I shall also be bringing a Slaanesh and (if I get them painted in time) a Khorne Warband so I can join in the big slaves to Darkness Game.
I shall also be bringing my painted collection of pre-slotta minis as shown on my blast from the past thread and my Great Spined Dragon BUT I confess (whilst it is not something that crossed my mind) following various posts on here I am quite worried about loosing some of this and my efforts to find a glass cabinet to put them in have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions on how you can have stuff on display so folks can enjoy seeing them without the risk of loosing them whilst playing a game would be most welcome.
I shall be bringing a Golden Gobbo entry. (Maybe minis for display go next to these if this area will be supervised?)
I shall be bringing (if I can sort it out) a few really crappy trophies for the Golden Gobbo.
I shall be bringing Norse who needed a lift.
I shall be bringing the Citadel Giant I have been painting for Skarsnick and Old Lead so at some point over the weekend there may be a tussle as he tries to wrestle it from my clenched fist.

I forgot to say I will also be bringing some John Blanche figures for display if I can get a secure cabinet shelf.
Is that something you are looking to buy or be provided by the Foundry.
IKEA do a great glass cabinet for £40 ... I just can't get put one in the car with everything else I am bringing.

I was hoping to use some space at Foundry - I should know what's available by the end of the week.

So your kind of 'in charge' of the golden gobbo! No one else is!

Thought it might be fun but I dont have any particular plans - we can all discuss it after the event. Might be fun to look back at in years to come, after all, can you imagine how exciting it would be if people had taken camcorders to the Games Days of the 1980's? :)

If there is any extra space ...

Ah ... OK
As long as we set it up somewhere between The rumble in the Jungle table and the BloodBowl stadium we are all set.

Unless there is a bit of space in a cabinet?

It kind of got forgotten really. But in the very least we can direct people to you now! It should be fairly simple to judge it. The whole point of the comp was it was a commuity vote and there was no real prize. Just the praise of our peers!

I'm in charge of evening entertainment :)

What establishments do you have in mind?

Keans Head, Brewdog and the trip for sure, have a few more in mind, but trying to think of places that wont be full of the kind of morons that inhabit the majority of Nottingham city centre on a Saturday night.

Harry - Fimm and Blue have posted their entries to me and I have one of my own. I'm happy to give you a hand with setting up the Golden Gobbo's if Orc's Drift allows!

Given the parking restrictions and how much stuff I'm likely to be carrying - can we drop-off and pick stuff up outside the facilities? If so, what time do the doors open & close?
This maybe a deal breaker!
