Official Fighting Fantasy Miniatures from Otherworld!

Zhu Bajie

Baron
Starting with Zagor: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain,

Sculpted by Paul Muller, and based, of course, on the classic artwork by Russ Nicholson, cast in pewter with a Limited Edition of 1000.

Level 4 Wizard anyone?

This is planned to be the first of a range of Fighting Fantasy miniatures, which opens up a whole world of classic fantasy imagery from many of the artists who established the look of Oldhammer. Exciting times!

Not if you're using modern figures. 'Heroic' scale 28mm is about 32mm. Of course, if these are Heroic scale 32mm they'll actually be 36, which will be a bit big, but I doubt they are. You'll notice against 80s/early 90s 28mm and 'true scale' 28mm but not against anything more recent and fantasy.

This is good, now I'm going to light a candle to saint Steve ans Saint Ian in hope of a range of models after the "sorcery" books, it's going to be almost 25 years I've been waiting for them now...

Regarding Zagor, I'll wait for some scale comparison pics but he's definitely good to have around for some RP. I wish he were a bit slimmer as in the art but it is him and he's good.

I have got one of these models.

I will do a scale shot later on for people to see. They are limited to 1000 though. 300 were given out at the Fantasy Fest and the remaing 700 are for sale through the webstore.

Having got one of these from Fighting Fantasy Fest, I believe he'll fit in very nicely with GW 3rd ed era models.

He is on the tall side (but that probably fits his status doesn't it!?), but the sculpting/detail is very fine so he doesn't look like he is out of scale.

I'm very happy with the model and would certainly recommend picking one up.

Order placed even if my eyes watered a bit at the price and P&P!

Ah well - bit cheaper than going to Fighting Fantasy Fest and I've been wanting the Hook Horror from Otherworld for my Trolltooth Wars project as well.

I've convinced myself but not sure it'll wash with the wife

!!!!!!

A range of FF miniatures by Otherworld. Now that is something I will follow with interest. I Aagree with Asslessman. It would be great to see some stuff in the style of the sorcery books. From what I remember, a lot of the characters were fantastically thin and spindly, which would be quite distinct from the chunky bobbleheaded look of the Warhammer stuff.

If you haven't seen the new FF figures in the pipeline (via Pure Evil Miniatures kickstarter) then go check out the Oldhammer Facebook page - they are amazing!

One wonders what Steve & Ian are thinking with multiple concurrent licensees for the same product, but it's a great time to be a FF fan and miniatures gamer!

:)

Very nice and some very familiar characters in there. The deathtrap dungeon monster looks quite cute in his bath of slime.

For anyone interested, a scale comparison pictures of Zagor...

Supurb, and thanks for doing the scale shot for everyone to see! Zagor tall slightly skinny dude like what he is :).

Richard hand delivered mine yesterday along with the final bits from his adventurers kick starter) I cannot tell you how excited I was to have a modern miniature with a FF logo on the blister. Pathetic I know.

Those other FF miniatures are beautiful though I wish they didn't have the diorama bases particularly on that mimic/shape changer (forget the actual name) from forest of doom.

Would love to see some lizardmen straight out of the books to go with that lizard king.

Nowt pathetic about that mate, I had exactly the same buzz when I got mine!

The Pure Evil Miniatures seemed larger in the flesh but the level of detail put into the sculpting is incredible. The designer told me that the amount of warts on the bloodbeasts hide matches exactly that on the cover of the book. The Lizard King was ENORMOUS.

Does seem odd to have two companies producing minis but I think the Pure Evil multipart resin kits are intended more as display pieces whilst the Otherworld minis would fit more comfortably alongside other minis in a game setting.
