Odd Dwarf Brewer

I recently finished stripping my unit of Bugman's Dwarf Rangers (RRD1 http://solegends.com/citrr/rrd01bugmans.htm), and I found an oddity in there. Included in the unit was a dwarf marked "Brewer" on the front of the tab and "GW 1987" rather than "GW 1986" on the back. He's #17 from this list of Dwarf Adventurers from the 1988 catalogue:

I'm absolutely certain that he came in the Bugman's Dwarf Rangers box I bought in 1988.

Anyone know the story here? Is that a mini that was originally intended for Bugman's, but didn't make the cut? Are there other random brewers out there?

Any information is appreciated.
 
I believe that numbers 12 (wounded) and 25 on that page are also labeled brewer on their tabs. If you look closely they have the same uniforms on. Iove the guy winding the xbow and wish there were more variants using their missle weapons. I was not aware of them being mixed into the box set but am not that surprised.

me too, it's my favourite dwarf figure. the handful of times i've seen it on ebay, it has been well above my price range.
 
Thanks, Blue. That explains it. I think I have 12 sitting around somewhere, so I'll check the tab and mix him in too.
