Mr Tough Guy's WIP thread

So working on some stuff I could really use an opinion on

first of a Realms of Chaos Khorne Champion, I didn't really want to do the traditional red paintscheme, but still wanted something that fit the theme, and since blue is one of the dominant colours of the army I figured a blue/white (light grey really) scheme based on the pre-heresey world eaters scheme might work. But I've started painting and am now having seconds thoughts about it and I'm not sure I'm going in the right direction, so could really use a second opinion
here's what I've got so far, early stage of painting but I'd rather hear your thoughts before it's to late to change

So what do you guys think, will this work, should I do the traditional red instead or maybe something different, are there any other good options for Khorne? I thought about yellow but it's a pain to paint, then again so is white

The other thing I could use an opinion on is this RT space marine captain I'm doing for my RT spacewolves, again very WIP, but need an opinion on the helmet stripes in particular

Not sure if it works quite as well with a yellow stripe as it does with the red, what do you think should I change it? maybe I just should make him a veteran instead,
or go with one of these rank badges instead, although that's gonna be a pain withal the stuff he's got going on with his helmet

I think the Khornate chapion looks great in the white/blue scheme. I t actually look like the pre-heresy world eaters scheme  the colours work well and those models demand such treatments. Very god. The beast man looks good too and his traousers are very nice.

For the captain helmet you could try defining the yellow with a more red/orange at its edges, help it stand out from the white - fiddly to paint but it would make it stand out a touch more. Otherwise I think it looks cool

little progress on the Khorne Champion, will definetly continue with the worldeaters scheme though, in fact the last beastman I finished (look for it in my showroom thread) has a little nod to the worldeaters in his paintscheme and shield.

However since I have all those demonettes decided to start on a Champion of Slaanesh using a Frothers Charity Sasha

Working on some RT Space wolves,
Brother McClane is a veteran, hence the reversed colour on his shoulderpad and the skull and crossbones on his arm shows he's looking for a glorious death in combat, looks like he's almost there  just need to finish the metals and backpack
the other guy is just a regular grunt, who needs his shoulderpad finished

agree with this. i must learn how to do stripes, those look great.

More progress on my champion for the Bestiary of the Exalted and the Unfortunate,
couldn't resist and added another nurgling, as I thought 2 nurglings on the base isn't much of an infestation, and replaced the right shoulderpad as it was a bit too much space mariney

Your chaos sculpt looks fantastic. Great work there. I love your freehand skull and bones on the injured Space Pup. Very nice work on the captain. That's always been one of my favorite models. Ought to give him a strip and dip and a repaint.

Anyway, lovely work all and all. Quite nice indeed.
