More Undead

Awhile back I posted my rather big army of classic80's and 90's Undead models. Over the course of October I added to it slightly, for Halloween. My army doesn't have very many characters, and doesn't have much in the way of shooting units, or cavalry. Going through my remaining stock of undead bits, my options were poor. In the end, I built a regiment of 5 mounted archers, to take care of both the shooting and cavalry deficiencies. I also found two metal zombies I forgot I had, and painted them to add to my pool of spares for "raise the dead" spells. I knew I wanted a necromancer for both WFB and Mordheim. I am largely driven to collect this army by a love of Halloween imagery. So, I found a rather old Citadel model that looks like a stereotypical witch from Halloween decorations. I was going to paint her all black but then I decided on orange, black, and dark blue instead. The blue is on the back of her cape, not visible here.

Nice use of the licensed range AD&D female magic user. If you ever get around to building an opposing force, you might want to get the low level version who’s more puritan in dress.

Glad you could identify her. I got her (along with a uncharacteristically Christian looking Citadel priest/monk/etc. to use in my Bretonnian Repanse de Lyonesse themed army) from eBay. They both simply said "Citadel 8X" on one side of the tab, and iirc, "Magic User" on the other.

No worries.

I’m intrigued by the Christian looking cleric comment. There were a bunch of Citadel clerics that wouldn’t look much out of place in a historical setting and the D&D Dungeon Adventurers boxed set included one with an ornate crucifix for a while. Any chance of a photo?

He was in my Bretonnian army thread. I couldn't see "Faux of Arc" being followed by the typical Bretonnian damsel. A priest or nun made more sense to me.

Well that's pretty cool background info.

Right now I am giving Fantasy a rest to make a proper circa 1429 HYW French Army, led by St. Joanie the Pony. I really wish they'd made a good dismounted version of her: unfortunately it was only available as an exclusive pre-order and I didn't discover it until afterwards.

I envision it being around 3,000 points of WAB stuff eventually. I am also making up 1,000 points of dismounted Burgundian Ordnanace troops, circa 1475, to fight them. I know I SHOULD make a more "accurate" army for her to fight but 50 years is just enough time for the clothing to have changed enough that I don't feel like I'm collecting the exact same army twice.

But yeah. The emphasis is on building and priming hundreds of figures before the weather stomps out any and all spray priming.
