Great work! I really like that beastman model, and you've done him justice! He looks like he's in need of a shield though.

Very nice indeed! I too like the two headed beastman...and the blood still gushing from the head on the thugs belt is a "nice" touch.

Cheers,

Blue

You know, it never ceases to amaze me, I've been painting for many many years now, and I still quite often miss that boss on the wrist of the miniature denoting that is supposed to have a shield. I get stuck in that zone sometimes, applying paint without seeing certain details. Kinda like painting a whole mini & then only at the end of the whole process noticing a massive flash line running down the middle of its face!

It's like some sort of writers block or something.

Thanks for the heads up phreedh...... I'll rectify his shield deficiency.

Gold timex watch is definitely the way to go. Hey, it's chaos, but that doesn't mean he likes to be late to appointments!

You could always paint the shield boss as a giant wrist watch - or make it a sundial

I came here to say that this but y'all beat me to it. I guess great minds think alike - and so do ours, hyuk hyuk! ;)

Wrist watch hey? Sounds like fun.... might give that a go?

Here's a few more of my minions too,

quote="Porkaborg"]How do you paint the bases ?[/quote]

Here goes,

Concrete sand sifted to separate the fine stuff from the large rocks. PVA applied to base, rocks dropped onto the base, then lightly tap the base on its side to remove any rocks that didn't stick properly. Next, heap the fine sand onto the base, lightly tap the base to remove the loose sand as in the previous step. Leave to dry for 24 hours. Tap the base upside down to remove any sand that hasn't adhered properly. Apply a dark ink wash, allow to dry thoroughly. Drybrush with bleached bone. Job done.

Enjoy.

More rejects from the empire,

Great stuff! Love the icon holder with a bad case of cats eyes on his stomach. Really like the long necked mutant/beastman.

The blinded guy with gut-eyes is a really good idea! Very Chaotic. They're coming out nicely. :)

One suggestion for him is I think painting the dangling skulls and chains on his icon a different colour would help - it looks a bit plain at the moment.

Thanks Magos,

I suppose it's a conundrum that I face quite often while painting, that is "has the paint job on this miniature now been completed?" It's hard to know sometimes when I should stop or continue adding detail.

This guy has a few things I have to fix, his gut eyes, the highlighting on his robes..... And now his staff :?

And I honestly appreciate the critique Magos, coz I know (as a painter) I still have a lot to learn.

Cheers.

I certainly do too! :) And yeah, I also find it hard to decide 'when to stop'.

Going through my collection, finding the one's that need more work & the one's i'm going to leave alone.
