Miniatures We Wish Were

axiom

Here's a quick game:

1) Pick a sculptor
2) Pick a model that doesn't exist, but you wish did
3) Explain why you chose it

My pick:

1) Jes Goodwin (who else?!)
2) Eldar Civilian
3) Ever since I saw this illustration in WD127 I've wanted this Eldar as a 28mm figure (and his aircar riding buddy from the wider picture. Sculpted by Jes, it would be elegant, graceful and a joy to paint. I could also have him hang out with my other Eldar, sniffing away daintly at his black rose while knocking back gloryberry cocktails and laughing over the mess that the gyrinx made on the kitchen floor that morning.

So which miniature in potentia do you dream about?

Chaz Elliott. Just moar snakemen in general, but if i had to choose I'd like some evil character types, like a snakeman lord and some sort of sorcerer. (I know Antiquis Malleum are doing their best to get some up and running , and i will buy them no doubt, but Chaz... he has a style that is pretty unique  ).

Oh and some cool shirtless snakeman archers, well oiled scales glistening in the sun as they draw back their arrows and take aim. Dont ask. Just gimme.

Great suggestions! I think the world is crying out for Logan's World civilians and more snake men variants :)

Not a single miniature, but I'd wish Jes Goodwin would make a Blood Bowl amazon team.
He's the only one, who can really do female faces, IMO.

I am making a squad of biker post apoc dwarves. I obviously commissioned Bob Olley to make me one of the riders. It really cool working with a sculptor you think is great. As a kid I hated Bobs sculpts, but as I have matured I have realised what a unique style he has. It is so intricate and really reminds me of viking archaeological stuff. I left the design of the figure up to Bob, so Im really looking forward to seeing what he has done. I will post up images when they arrive!

Myron Jubalgunn and accomplice:

I had this framed for years, it sums up everything I love about Rogue Trader.

Seriously, if anyone knows of a sculptor who could do this justice in a RT way, I'll happily pay them. I'm planning on setting up a miniatures business again later in the year anyway, but this will be for me.

Accomplice seems to exist to me (sculpted by Jez on top of that ) I agree though this rogue trader would be awesome.

Yeah, I've got him, but I'd want the accomplice to be of squat height, or hunchbacked to fit in with the height difference. Lovely figure though!

Great idea.

1. Jes Goodwin, because he sculpted excellent Elven and Human faces, and the Eternal Champion range, both of which would be a good basis for the miniature I would like...

2. Jareth the Goblin King

3. Why Jareth the Goblin King? A king of the Labyrinth, and looking like David Bowie, would make a great general model for my massed Goblin army.
:)

+1 to this idea

1. Aly Morrison
2. Hobgoblin hobhound rider
3. Because it would be awesome :)

As much as I like the temple dog, it's a very static model, and the rider lacks some of the charm of the c36 series of models, I really doesn't fit well with the idea of lightning fast raiders. If I ever win the lottery or whatever, paying Mr Morrison lots of money to make a load of these models is in my things to do list.

1. Aly and or Trish Morrison
2. Dedicated command sections for their marauder minis
3. Why...because marauder gave us specific elite dwarf figures...but failed to give us any command sections to go with them...

Cheers,

Blue
