Mighty Cannon! basing issues

Having recently picked up a nice cheap-ish battle masters set, to basically complete/replace my old family one which.. I know where most of the Empire figures are but that's about it..

anyway..

Always perfered to base the figures on normal bases then to have them stuck on the movement trays, which makes them much harder to store (also normal bases means you can use them else where).. though they move too freely on them plastic trays.. more then just getting some movement trays, I've made a little 'converter' plate which locks into the bottom tray (though easy to remove) and gives decent support to hold the figures on normal bases (i'm using 20mm squares for most of them)

one problem i've come up with the is the 'Mighty Cannon'.. I was going to use it on a Calvaly base but its wheels are too wide for that.. Just wondering if any one has some ideas?

probebly but I can just do one up myself trying to get a more kinda regular style so it'll be quite easy to deal with sizing for my tray inserts. I could probebly go with two Calvaly or maybe calvaly and a 20mm t shape but... not too sure how well that'll come out..

have you considered cut outs for a 'unit' base? attach the cannon to the big base and have the crew removable but also positionable around the cannon.

mm.. possible but i think going for a T shape base might just be easier and work well enough for cross-compatability too.
