Lionheart? 1997

Okay.. We all should (or mostly should) know Battle masters, the Games workshop (published by MB Games) introduction game into large battles from 1992. While the figures in each unit were pretty limited, they were still a nice cheap source of basic figures and while a fun game, with the large battle mat, I'm sure alot of people got it for the figures more then the game (counting a horse and rider as one etc, 105 figures, a few cheap-ish hedges and a nice tower).

well.. I didn't know about and just noticed a 1997 game called 'Lionheart' by Parker Brothers (who was brought by Hasbro in 1991, so was Hasbro at the time.. oh and Milton Bradley was Hasbro since 1984, and MB and Parker were merged in 1998). While its a much smaller scale game, I was looking at the figures.. and.. huh.. not the same models from Battle masters, which would clearly be.. an issue, but they are pretty damn close.. if not a bit more detailed (changes in tech from 1992 to 1997).. the horses don't look as good, but the riders are.. almost the same as the ones from Battle masters.. It seams a bit late for it to be a rival game, (6 years later? ehuh... bit late of the mark there), and .. well.. if you remove the Games workshop side (who clearly did the story and the figures with MB just pretty much publishing, the same as most of the other MB/GW games at the time) they are the same company.. so maybe Hasbro wanted all the money instead of splitting it with GW but then, like i said, 6 years late (pretty sure it wasn't still on the shelves then).

I don't know much about this game, the dice are.. similar too from what I've seen.. any one know much about this game?

never heard of it.
i do recall seeing a sci-fi miniature boardgame in the shops, that seemed to have a laser component to working out casualties.
