Inquisitorial Pulp Alley:The Ragna Rock Pts 1, 2 & 3

An old gaming buddy spent a big chunk of last weekend in the man-cave playing a three game Pulp Alley campaign with me.  It was exceptionally good fun. Our games were set in our own slightly skewed, quite RT version of the 40K universe and concerned an Inquisitorial retinue and an ork warband in search of a Maguffin called the Ragna Rock.

My personal brand of Oldhammer doesnt include much nostalgia for the rulesets. I am very fond of many of the old models and lots of the old background and setting, but the rulesets should be left in the past in my opinion. YMMV etc.

I have been searching for a streamlined, non-fiddly skirmish scale tabletop ruleset that involves some decent decision making and remains fun to play for quite some time.  I decided to give Pulp Alley a go based on some of the batreps written on the Stalker 7 blog.

We were absolutely blown away by the PA ruleset.  All further tabletop skirmish rulesets will have to measure up against Pulp Alley as far as we are concerned.

The blog post on part one is HERE with a little more info on the game and a few more photos.  Parts 2 and 3 will be serialised over the next few days and I will post here if there is interest.

If you have any questions or comments or criticisms then fire ahead :)

Re: Inquisitorial action via Pulp Alley: The Ragna Rock Pt 1

Wow, I could use totally inappropiate words as awesome or fantastic, but they are absolutely insufficient, don't even begin to cover this game!

Great looking game and write up, you have tempted me to try the pulp alley rules.

Pulp Alley is exactly what many of my gaming group are looking for. Hopefully you will get as much fun from it as we have.

The second installment of the campaign will be up tomorrow I expect.

Re: Inquisitorial action via Pulp Alley: The Ragna Rock Pt 1

Having identified the location of the stolen Imperial lander crash site in the first scenario, both sides have ended up in near the wreckage. Both sides are looking for survivors or clues as to possible survivors whereabouts but most importantly, they are hoping to locate the Ragna Rock.

Again I will just throw superlatives at you until one or more stick! And now that you mentioned on LAF where the bar furniture comes from I know where to waste some more cash! Cheers!

Another great write up. I am looking forward to the rules arriving and giving them a go.

Thanks for the feedback folks.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

The final scenario from my Inquisitorial campaign is posted up HERE.  The final installment doesnt included any sex, or drugs, but its jam-packed with rock.

We had a great time with the PA system in a Inquisitorial context.  I thoroughly recommend it :)
