Because when GW releases their new wood elves, they feel like painting this :

Oh and tomorrow they're selling models by weight for their 3rd birthday...

Nothing better than to have a true hobby shop nearby.
 
I think the Wood Elf with his arm in a sling is really awesome, I wish I knew where my one was, I must have sold it some time ago sadly.

Yay for independents! :) Shame our local got run out of business, they couldn't afford the GW resale prices. What a surprise. :?

I'm pretty up and down on the new stuff but it's starting to grow on me

The regular version of the treeman is decent but the character variations are kinda crappy.

I do like some of the other kits.
 
I like my local hobby shop now that they've kinda set a certain habbit of painting old references instead whenever there's a new GW release.

This is their entry for the release of WH40k's new edition

You know I love old figures and good painting? But those mono-pose plastic Blood Angels were pretty rubbish at the time, and rose-tinted glasses/nostalgia doesn't make them seem any better ;) :lol:

On the contrary, I absolutely love them and they will be #1 on my to do list when I get around to painting my Blood Angels :lol:

I can only hope to paint them as well as that though :?
 
Oh, I'm on th esame page here, you wouldn't make me paint one of those , I just love that those skilled guys decide to paint them to a really good standard along a very nice rhino for the release of 40k instead of pulling out another squad of recent stuff. They had painted a complete army of RT Space pirates eldars for the last eldar codex.

I'll see if I can find pics of the eldars.

They have also sculpted a special eldar character which is for sale (an eldar farseer in swim suit) if you still feel like owning every eldar model made under the sun...

That desire has gone...but I could be tempted by a swim suit Eldar!

I have all the RT era eldar and most of the new ones too :)

I'll see if they still have some tomorow morning, they seem to have left the online store. I'll ask about pics of th eRT pirates too.

They interstingly speedpainted them with a lightbrown prime and a zenithal yellow highlight and with a couple of washes, edgelighting and details which resulted in a super result. 2 of the 3 are Golden Demon painters and they paint armies in couple of nights, defnitemy resourceful people to know !
 
Beautiful JB - you're a lucky man being able to see such wonderful figures!

Now...about this almost naked Eldar chick...
