How Wide Is The Empire

WFRP 1e edition would have it about 1000 miles wide.
Sigmars Heirs says about 600 miles.

Do you have any sources that give a size?

The maps in Empire in Flames (1e) show about 500 miles from Altdorf to the Black Mountains and roughly 1000 miles from the very furthest East to West.

changes over time. Empires shrink and grow. compare the 3ed map to the 4ed map, does the Empire take up all the from the Sea of Claws in the north to the Worlds Edge Mountains and with Marienburg as the far west, or does it go past it? 4ed says it goes as far as the Grey Mountains and even past Marienburg to the Gisoreux Gap. While the mountains and sea mostly create a national barrier to the edges of the empire, there are some outlaying areas which are probably more use to somewhat unsettled ownership
