HeroQuest Basing?

I finished up the last of the HeroQuest goblins the other night. For those that have been following my log, I've painted up all the monsters that belong in 20mm bases. Up next will be the monsters that belong on 25mm bases. However, I've a bit of a conundrum regarding the heroes. Should I base them in 20mm square bases or 25mm round bases? I won't be using the heroquest heroes, but period citadel models.

I've seen CvB's heroquest figs on 25mm round bases and they look great. The spaces on the HQ board are about 25mm across so big round or big square bases work well. 20mm squares are good because sometimes the big fights get cluttered and it's nice to have a bit of wiggle space. They are also good if you want to one day include your HQ characters in a unit for a WHFB game Which i have done. When i was 13. It was the raddest.

Count Von Bruno, it isn't too late as the impending birth of my daughter has pushed back the purchasing of the bases. Thanks for the pics on 25mm round. I think that is what I'm going to use for the heroes.
