Help identifying old Warhammer figures, mainly 1985-1988.

Hi.

I've been directed to this site by a member from the Warseer forum.

Basically I have a load of old 1980s Warhammer figures that I pulled from the loft a few weeks back, they were given to me by a family member a long time ago and have been forgotten about since.

I'm looking for as much info on the figures so I can sell them to someone/people who appreciate them, they are of no use to me, I tried researching myself to begin with and soon realised I was out of my depth on the vast subject of Warhammer.

Here's a link to the Warseer thread with all the pictures...

Any info on the figures would be much appreciated, cheers.

This is really an impressive collection of untouched figures. Id be happy to help ID figures for you (as I'm sure many people will be here) but doing so the way they are organized right now will be very difficult. May I suggest that organized them into smaller groups seperated by "race" ...groups of all goblins....groups of all orcs....groups of all undead....groups of 40k figures (sci-fi) etc. Even better would be to put them on a grided paper for the photos like this

]

So people could tell you which one they are talking about for example...B2 is Iron Claw Goblin etc.

It may seem tedious but it will be the easiest way to get info. I see that someone on Warseer recommended Stuff of legends and the CCM wiki those are alos very valuable sources of information. On SoL I would suggest looking at the 1991 citadel catalogs, and the Marauder miniatures catalogs

Its a great stash and certainly worth some money.

Regards,

Blue

That's kind of you to help, thanks for that.

Now you say about putting them on a grid it's an obvious thing to do really, I'll get onto that, will get the pictures up by tomorrow afternoon.

I have identified some (20 odd) thanks to the posters links on Warseer but there is still a long way to go.

All the bits and pieces pile, looks a complete nightmare to sort.

Re: Help identifying old Warhammer figures, mainly 1985-1988

I think the easiest scenario would be to find a person on this forum to buy it bulk, let them sort it, and then they resell parts of it to different forum-goers. They are actually very easy to identify, and all the foot models go for no more than £2 to £3 each, but sorting it over messages (especially if you are not familiar with the models) will be a nightmare. The larger models (like the trolls) would probably net £9 or £10 at most, and the very large models would have to be appraised individually (but that is manageable, because there are not too many of them).

For my part, I'd love some Orcs Boar Boyz!

I could imagine that when you're not really familiar with the models, then it's especially difficult to see what the sci fi bits & pieces are supposed to be. But it seems like you've got at least some of these:
http://solegends.com/citrt2/rt7dreadnoughts/index.htm
http://solegends.com/citrt2/rt403eldardread/index.htm
http://solegends.com/citrt2/rt403eldarrobot/index.htm
http://solegends.com/citrt2/rt403eldarwalker/index.htm

Also, the fantasy war machine bits & pieces are a bit difficult to identify until they are sorted a bit more.

Re: Help identifying old Warhammer figures, mainly 1985-1988

Thanks for all the help/advice.

Will drop you a PM, Diesel.

Re: Help identifying old Warhammer figures, mainly 1985-1988

Well I would drop you a PM but I'm unable to do so as I haven't been active on the forum long enough.

Maybe if you sent one first it would let me reply?

Here you go Blue... http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthrea ... -1985-1988

Have fun 8-)

I couldn't upload here as the file size of the photos were too big, been having that a lot lately, having to use an older crappier camera because of it, one or two photos look a big dodgy, if you need them taken again just say.

Will reply to your PM in a bit Diesel (If it allows me)

Hi.

Pretty much repeating what I just said to Diesel on PM...

I'm still not sure on the price, it's probably best for me to wait a little while and get some more of it identified giving me a better clue of price but to be honest I'll most likely be happy to take whatever is the best offer I get offered on here/Warseer, would much prefer avoiding all the hassle of Ebay and have an easy sell for the lot... there's already a fair bit of interest on both forums... I won't drag this out too long, I'll give it till Sunday/Monday and then 99.9% accept whatever is the best price.

Make an offer in PM and we can go from there.

Cheers.

Re: Help identifying old Warhammer figures, mainly 1985-1988

I'm not here to mess anyone around either, I'll be honest with what's been offered, the mods can check my PMs to verify if they like.
