Im working a trade with Harry for the first time. I am in the USA and he is in UK! When I give him my address with obviously my full name he responds with are you serious I have relatives by that very name that span generations going as far back as the ECW period. And he has some that branched off and settled in the states! Im exploring whether or not we may be related. What a coincidence. Anything like this ever happen to you? I'd be honoured if I am,I'll tell you that! Gc
 
I once met a guy gaming in Bristol who had been in the year below me at the school I went to and lived just round the corner from my parents' house in darkest Dorset. We'd never met at school but he knew lots of the friends I used to game with back home in my little village. It's not as spectacular a thing, but fun nevertheless.
 
When I was in Afghanistan I walked into the British HQ to find out my new liaison officer had been to school with me twenty years earlier. Then on flying to the other side of Helmand to meet one of my new platoon commanders I found that he had also been at school with us!!
 
When I bought this house nearly 20 years ago, I called to the house next door, and it was a guy I shared a desk with in school.

I haven't discovered blood relatives, but plenty of brothers from other mothers :grin:

I thought it was awesome when I was reading through Ross Leach's blog and realised I had one of his miniatures in my collection via ebay.
 
My wife has a very rare last name, mines rare but hers more so. About ten years ago a chap joined the games club I chaired and he had the same surname as my wife, after investigations were carried out it turned out he was a long lost 2nd cousin just moved to the area. Also turned out he moved to work on the same campus I worked on.

That and I joined this forum right at the start, a few months later this other chap joined turned out he was my Brother, can't shake him.
 
When at RAF Scampton I had a dental appointment. I was told who the dentist was and mentioned we had the same surname. When I got 'in the chair' I discovered he also had the same christian name as my father and they both grew up in the same town albeit about 20 years apart. He still hurt me though!

Warlord Paul and myself used to go to the same game Club when we were both young Teenagers and din't know it.. he was only a Nob back then though ;) hehehe
