Happy Halloween

Harry

Baron
NOW UPDATED WITH PICTURES FROM THE GAME!

In preparation for the the recent Oldhammer Halloween game at GROG (Gloucestershire Retro and Oldhammer Gamers) .... "The night of the living lead" ... did you see what I did there .... I painted up a whole bunch of skeletons. Vintage citadel and Marauder skeletons.

I painted some of these:

Grim Reapers:

Spearmen:

Painted up some of these great old Citadel guys:
One of the few minis they did with multiple head variants back then most of the skellies were individual sculpts.
I thought these might make a nice unit:
Note also the Necromancer type in the front row:

...and a bit more old school nonsence:

This guy is a Fighting Fantasy miniature.
Sometime in the 80's Citadel made a bunch of BIG plastic miniatures for Fighting Fantasy ...the Game books.
They were not great sculpts and made in soft plastic but ... well see what you think of him as a Bone Giant ...

He didn't come with a staff .... he had a sythe but I have lost it .... and whatever was attached to his belt ...so I have improvised.

Here they are together .... I think it works:

So here is a picture I know you want to see .....

Here they are as one BIG unit,

and here's a bunch of stuff together:
Not quite everything .... I forgot the skeleton archers I had done when taking this picture.

Looks great. I particularly like the chaotic (small c) look of all those different sculpts. The bases are also very nice. They call to mind some barren and blasted heath, from whose mists the undead are emerging to wreak carnage on the living.

Thanks very much. I take this as high praise. Love the stuff on your website.
I will take barren blasted heath ... I was aiming for barren, blasted grave yard ... as I post more stuff you will see where I was going.

It all started with these guys:

and more barren heath than graveyard:

Having seen Your endeavors in the flesh as it were, I can honestly say sterling work Harry, sterling work.

Thanks Paul.

Next I did a bit more work on my Garden of Morr set.

Now talking bases .... you may remember these from last years "The night of the living Lead" game:

My pumpkin objective markers:

I also painted up some graves I already had:

This year I went back to the same folks who did the pumpkin bases as they do some very nice resin Graveyard bases ..... or as I like to think of them "unit fillers ans objective markers.

Cavalry bases:

Monster bases:

and they do a dozen smaller 20mm bases ... but you get the idea.

I also dug out and painted some old Citadel graveyard minis I had:

Some gravestones:

Some graves and a tomb:

and these Gravestones .... which I have painted a few of to use as Waystones/boundry markers like my Dwarf ones.

Great army, having all those differently equipped units finished is a collector's dream. I'm always motivated by your work, wish I was as prolific. Also, I am stealing your basing style.

These guys looked great swarming across the stonking scenery! I live in hope of a battle report with nice pictures.... ;)

Wow you have been really busy. I like the way you've painted and based the gravestones and bases, which company is it that sells them? Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks fellas.

@Subedai ...Please help yourself. :grin:
@Fimm ..... Have not had time to upload the pictures of the game yet. But I will add them to this thread as soon as I find some time.
@Bane ....The graveyard bases and the Pumpkin bases are both Titan Forge. They do some other nice ones too.
