Here at G.R. O. G. (Gloucestershire Retro and Oldhammer Gamers) our last couple of BIG games have been Rouge Trader games.
However, given that a couple of us are into our fantasy and good ol' fashioned dungeon bashing these games had a twist ... although given that Rouge Trader has one foot firmly in the Role playing games of old ... maybe not so much.
Our first game had a split table with some above ground action with an 'assault' on an Imperial base ... with which they had lost communication. Unfortunately their had been a Tyranid attack ... and as a result poured out of every hole in the planet upon our arrival. Each of the five players had different objectives .... which resulted in a surprising amount of mistrust and suspense and no small amount of back stabbing! The result of some great GM'ing and a bonus of narrative driven, GM'ed gaming. Anyways some of us cracked on and got inside the complex and into the below ground action to complete our objectives ....
I am not so good at the whole battle report thing ... so lets just say "Complications arose, ensued, were overcome." .... although not by me .... My squad of Marines died to the last man.
Anyway here are some pretty pictures:

The second game was played on two tables ... It was a follow up to the first game, more back story, more suspense, more intrigue and more back stabbing. Once again there was both over ground and under ground action ... This time there was an assault on some ancient Pyramid, some locals were trying to perform some ceremony to stop some demon or other re entering the world and causing ultimate evil and the destruction of the universe and we were essentially getting in the way .... anyway I am not much good at this whole battle report thing ... so lets just say "Complications arose, ensued, were overcome." .... although not by me ... my team of archaeologists died to the last man.
Anyway, here are some pretty pictures:

Hope you like the pretty pictures ... I will encourage Norse to do a bit of a write up to explian what's going on.
