Gobbo bashing

I don’t condone bashing anyone, but after spending a few months gathering and preparing dwarfs for gaming, I thought I would have some fun with some old plastics and a bag of spare contemporary bits I’ve been lent to build the troll head for my slayer’s banner.IMG_0684.jpeg

They just about work together, but dang that Regiments head looks huge on the 4th Ed stikka gobbo…

The head on that middle one is.. erm.. I think better to say 'I you like it, it's fine' ^_^
still, nice bashing to give a bit of variety.

Not sure when the goblin design changed to have more pronounced angular noses and ears, but I think it does make them look a little more sinister.

Neat work! Wow, at the time I thought the 4th Ed goblins were on the smaller side of things, but seeing that head on the body really shows it up. It'd be quite interesting to see all the orcs/gobbos together to properly chart how they have changed over time even in the one company. Looking at modern fantasy orcs and they just don't have the appeal the older more square jawed fellas had. Goblins however - well I don't dislike the more modern tendency for more pointy/longer noses/ears.

The Regiments goblin is quite squat and broad compared to the 4th Ed designs, the face is more chubby and less gaunt.
Anyone know who designed the 4th Ed plastic sprue?

not sure as Citadel were getting into the 'Don't mention a sculptor, Pike' phase.
I don't think they are Kev Adams and I know Colin Dixon (often with Ally Morrison) did alot of 4th Plastics at the time, so with the softness of the plastic casting, I don't think either of them could be discredited. I know Colin Dixon did some Goblin/Gretchen stuff. It would be under the direction of Kev Adams at the time if they did Goblin stuff I think.. the one Goblin Face shield does kinda give me Adams feeling..
