Genestealer Patriarch arms

I'm not sure the source of this colour version but that doesn't matter.. Here is a question:
traditionally, the upper set of a Genestealers arm's are ended with claws, which the lower set end in hands. the Patriarch figures agree with this. However, what about this piece of art? (John Blanche I think.. doesn't matter).

A quick look has his Right upper arm being a hand (which he is using to eat.. something), while his lower right is on his leg, however, the Left side, the upper arm is a tri-claw, which the lower is a hand resting on his throne.. this is unusual but possibly quite possible for a hybrid (kinda) species.. but not seen anywhere else as far as I'm aware.. however, it's possible the Right Upper is the claw arm which is on his lap, with the lower one being the hand and twisting it around in a.. unknown way so that it's coming off above like that.. though like I said, working out way the arms are being held... I'm not sure I can do that...

So.. any ideas what is going on with his arms?

possible but as the arms are.. well, technically the anatomy isn't really right for 4 arms in most genestealers (when you have arms coming out of what is technically your rip cage, working out how the real muscles would need to go.. kinda not fantastic.. but anyway) they are normally lined up so the 'shoulder' of the lower arms would be just below the arm pits.. so having the higher one that close to the body.. mm.. maybe just about enough space from where the lower arm comes out of for it to go around the back of the higher arm.. just having a tiny bit of trouble working out how it would go..

It's a Tony Hough piece I believe. He did a digital colouring in job on it more recently which is what this is.

It's post his right upper arm is the three claw one. You can't actually see the elbow joint, the hand one could be coming up from under it, though I agree it looks like the hand arm is coming from the shoulder.

ah, I though the colouring looked digital but didn't really bother me.. Tony Hough does make more sense ^_^

I think perspective makes the left upper arm look VERY short cause.. there is no way the right clawed arm is the upper if the same length..

I'm not saying I think that IS what's going on, but it's possible...

Foreshortening on the left upper arm and all that.

I did try to work it out like that but not as good ^_^ and the human arms are then going from about the arm pits (his design is a bit more human, less purestrain.. which techinally the info said he was originally human so it would make more sense) then around the arm.. okay ^_^ helps alot
