Frankitsu!

''Frankitsu!''
Hello, My name is Frank and I'd like to kick start my log with one of my personal favourite models. As the title suggests I take inspiration from John Blanche's old White Dwarf column ''Blanchitsu!''

While it's not exactly ''Oldhammer'' I am very proud of this model: ''The Flayed Haemonculus''

''This twisted and violent psychotic sensation seeker has removed the skin from his own living body so that his senses are left pink, juicy and raw to all forms and hights of pleasure..''

Skin, skin, skin.

It's the thing that keeps you "in".

We still got all sorts of love for painted models, and I do have a slight preference for the modern dark elves, even though I still like some of the 4th ed models. (Some...)

its nice but it needs moar oldhammers if you're going to get any love around here

I think the man is trying to channel the old-school through his painting technique, in emulation of Blanche, rather than through antique figures.

Good work and keep it up. I think your base needs to be a bit more weird though!

Agree with ramshackle, the base could be better considering what he is.

I'd like to see more stuff from you soon please.

Thank you for the kind responses.

It's unfortunate, but I don't have many classic models anymore (I lost many of my RT and 2nd ed Eldar to the warp years ago).

@ramshackle- I currently can only put grassy knolls on my models since all I have is... green. I'll be getting some different bases.

In the mean time here's some Chaos space marines.

''These vile and warped defenders of anarchy and chaos enslave all who touches their blade and bullets. Each swordblow and each bolt shot that destroys a living creature will have their soul binded to his armor, screaming in everlasting demonic torture for all of eternity''

Frank, Frank, Frank... I am not happy at all. Saying Blanchitsu is one thing, doing it is another, I cannot see any checkers ANYWHERE !

Proper Blanchitsu involves :

- red, black, white and brown, nothing more, nothing less
- Checkers wherever you manage to paint some
- 7 sepia washes
- blood splats everywhere
- an inch thick coat of gloss varnish

That said your models are fine and those faces on the shoulder pad are really nice, a little background story to enlighten the job is always good to have too ;)

@Asslessman: Yeah, I know it's not ''Blanchitsu'', but I didn't want to copy him either, he just inspires me to pick up the brush and the pencil.
Where as Blanche's signature colors are browns and various shades of red or orange, I tend to lean towards purple.

But, anyway I have some more Evil space elves to share!
Here we have something that is considered very Oldhammer to my friends and other local gamers- The old Dark Eldar range. While I don't consider it THAT old, I can see where they are coming from. Personally I refuse to let these models simply get dusty on my shelf. They've been through more than a handful of Space raids and last ditch escapes from eldritch horrors!

''Stop fool! You must not move... you must not speak in his presence without consent, lest it is YOUR face that he shall skin. Under his ownership you will learn one thing: the Lord must wear a new face each and every day... I cannot count how many times he has mocked those just like us. He speaks a language that I cannot understand, yet when I see his eyes looking through a former brother's gaping sockets... You cannot deny him!''
-Ruford Cladist, former slave of the dreaded Lord Draculaeus.

And of course an Evil lord must have Evil Henchmen.

''This sickly band of maurauders and mercenaries only recruit from the worst of their dying kin. Sadists, murderers and scitzophrenics are all welcome with open arms. They attack without rhyme or reason, whenever they see fit. Their armor smells of fresh blood as metal needles dig into their skin, they laugh in masochistic ecstasy while watching their prey bleed and plead and cry....''

Something has crawled from the crypt...

The Unholy Undead!

Count Drugula

''A monster conjured from the darkest pits of Hell on earth. His sockets are hollow and eyeless, accompanied only by an occasional maggot. An expert poisoneer and chymist, This fiendish creature has been cursed to only drink the blood of the living that has hallucinogenics flowing through it's veins. Posing as a priest, this devil contaminates every shipment of holy wine with a specially crafted elixir...''

Count Drugula on his undead steed

Lord Mundvard, the Cruel

Throttlehand, Thrall of Mundvard

Mundvard and Throttlehand

Necromancer Vytor Von Krieger

''Kept alive by will and will alone, this vile madman of the Black Arts has all but withered away. Von Krieger has summoned hordes of fiendish horrors from beyond the gave and within the Anchient void. He is the master of the rituals of blood, the author of the infamous Unholy Rites of Kaethouloo. Now even he is giving in to his primal, numbing urges of flesh consumption.... Slowly but surely he resembles the lowliest of his Zombies''

Banshee

''The scream has flayed skin and soul from a body at once. The terror of terrors who's demonic voice has felled Kings''

Some fine painting skill on display throughout Frank.

Drugula is such a cool name! If I was doing him though, I would not have missed the opportunity to turn his rolled up scroll into a massive spliff. ;)

I absolutely love that Liche model for Von Krieger!

Thank you guys!

@littlelead- I know, finding a good place to take photos is a pain for me here. Count Drugula is from the old OOP Necrarch Vampires blister. Von Krieger is a Reaper mini (I think one of their Dark Haven series?)
@theotto- lol damnit that would've been friggin' awesome
