Flippas Metal Minis...

Very nice trolls, if only I could paint like that myself.

Very nice centurios too.

I take it your period is the 90's?

Like the cyber ork but it is out of my frame of reference as to what type it is. Somehow reminds me of the Aliens power loader.

The Ork is a MEGANOB - Retinue for a Warboss. I rather think this guy would give the Alien Queen something to worry about.

Very nice job on the LOTD and Ork BTW.

Been a while since posting... Haven't been idle though. 1 Imperial Knight finished not oldhammer so I won't post it here, I painted it using my family heraldry coat of arms and colours. If you're interested I will post.

On the oldhammer front I have been working on my Chaos Dwarves and these 2 miscreants...

I have tried to paint them using more realistic tones whilst keeping an homage to the era they came from, red tassles and blue chainmail rims. I'm not the best at taking pictures so I will try and check out some tuts on them.

Hope you like.

Flippa

Beautiful minis.
I'm going to be all weird here and say those are the best painted shrooms ever :)
They look good enough to induce flashback trailers just by looking at them.

Aye there's some beautiful models on here some of you guys just blow me away with the quality of the work!!

I immediately thought psilocybins too

Great work, I wouldn't mind seeing the Knight either.

Ok, here is the Knight. The god machine is named Warspite, based on my family colours and hearaldry. With a 40k'd version of the coat of arms.

Wow, very very nice painted Mini's. love the Heraldry on your Knight. And the old Trolls are awesome ;)

Thanks, I like the trolls, there's some bits I would like to improve on and would probably do so if I spent a lot more time on them. I'm currently working on some sandstone trolls ;)

The Knight is superb Flippa, outstanding work.

I'm pretty bitter and twisted when it comes to modern Citadel minis, but I must say that the Imperial Knight gets my blood pumping.

There are some stunning new minis made by GW. The squig gobba for one and I love the Coven Throne/Mortis Engine. There are plenty more I could list, one thing I don't like are the prices

Base coat of Codex Grey (Now Dawnstone)
Highlight up with Space Wolf Grey (Now Fenrisian Grey)
Shade down in the crevices with Agrax Earthshade and Leviathon Purple, shade and washes accordingly
Use red glaze or Bloodletter glaze to build warmth and depth to the nose, lips, ears and spots

add details for eyes, teeth, metal, claws etc

Varnish with a gloss varnish, I use Pledge Multi Surface Wax once dry use blue glaze to the scales (sparingly you just want to add depth)

Spray with matt varnish and finish base with static grass etc.

I have some more trolls on the table and can do a walkthrough if you're interested, although I wouldn't normally consider my stuff good enough to warrant a "How To"

If you have any problems pm me and I'll try and explain any bits.
