Figures to Match Pictures

Padre

Lord
In my Tilean Campaign (not the fastest gaming experience, I have to admit) the player of Jan Valckenburgh, VMC general, and I are going to write part of the end of season report as a joint writing exercise. To do so, however, I needed pictures (nearly all my campaign stories have photos). The plan was for me to drive over to his or him to come here and do a little photo session(!). But ... stuff got in the way. Then it occurred to me that he'd already sent me historical paintings showing the main VMC personalities, and I got very excited by the prospect of making new figures or converting old ones in my collection to look like those images - that way I can get on with the photos myself. So I did, and here is the result (some a little bit incomplete) ...

General Jan Valckenburgh
A new figure (Perry). He's cut his hair for campaigning and is wearing a surcoat so his men can spot him, otherwise very similar. I just cut down the sword in his hand to turn it into a baton.

Luccia la Fanciulla
A new figure (Perry). Also in a surcoat, her haird cut a little shorter (the company barber has been busy). Her holy Myrmidian banner shows a common design for the goddess.

Serafina Rosa
A very old figure. I might do more work on this more - maybe even cut off the tips of her elven ears! Certainly make her hair a little redder.

The wizard Johannes Deeler
Another very old figure. I painted over his lovely yellow and red checked cloak with black. You can see he shunned the barber and instead let his hair and beard grow wild!

Cpt van Luyden's Shot
Newly painted, though old models. A file of northern Old Worlder handgunners acting as escort. I think I went a bit crazy with the blues!

The VMC Company Colours
Converted from already painted models. The VMC banner has appeared in several web-wargaming campaigns.

I might do some more work on the faces - my technique is a bit haphazard - I can't really see how they come out until I see the photos!!! I have done some other figures too, but failed to photograph them. Oops. They'll be in the finished story piece I am sure.

Luccia came out ok, didn't she? The head (Perry) isn't female, but it looks like it could be.
