Female General.....which figure!?

For my Oldhammer army, I am doing a tongue in cheek Dogs of War / Empire mash up, based loosely on my home county. My home town was named after lady Wulfruna, a lady of Early Saxon nobility, and just wondered what the best figure would represent her? I have seen some of the Breton wenches, and they seem a little too regal for what I'm trying to achieve. Can anyone recommend a Base figure for which I can add to please? Thanks in advance!

Awesome, cheers!
There's some nice stuff on that site. I'm thinking a woman on some sort of Mount.... The Historic Elizabeth model is kinda cool.

Well when you said Wulfruna I immediately thought of these two minis. One from Wargamesfoundry, and the the other from Hasselfree:

Hope those help and inspire. ;)
The foundry one would be more apt for a conversion to mounted for I think, but hey its your army.

Hasslefree. Do not pass go, do not collect £200 - just go to Hasslefree. They'll see you right.

Seeing as all the sensible options have been given, bearing in mind I've been to wolverhampton, have you considered the drunken strumpet from Marauder's MM62 citizens range?

Mierce Miniatures has some fantasy style saxons, there is a "Queen of Mierce" for example. but they are quite expensive. The relevant faction is called "Angelcynn".

Red Box have all sorts under the title of "Aenglish". There are also some elf type people called aelfar that look similar.

Haha! Give her a six shooter and a short skirt and she could easily be from Nottingham too :-p

Thanks all! There's been some great ideas here. Decisions decisions!

That's a nice model.... but I bet the scale is a bit small. Are the LOTR models 25mm? Or a tad smaller?
They're true 25mm so they do look a bit small next to modern 28mm models.

Although Wulfruna was a saxon noble in reality, I think I'm gonna have to medieval/fantasy her arse up a little bit. A large portion of the army consists of Battle Lords, Armoured fighters, Retainers etc. I have posted a few pics in the WIP pages. It's a bit of a mash up at present, but I'm slowly getting there. I quite like some of the Breton women characters, and have a vision of perhaps converting one of them. I think it will be rude for her not to have an axe or Warhammer of some sort. I have also written ideas down for the fluff and background, and even an army name!

How about Lady Zoneliegh from the Citadel Pladins range?

Pic swiped from ebay

Thanks dude. Thats a good idea. I've got her in my collection. She's a cool model! She's definitely a contender. There's another female fighter I quite like from Citadel too. I think she was called "Iron face" or something like that. She's on Solegend.....
I could use Zoneliegh as the "on foot" version if her oss' takes an arrow or two....
