Elves

I have been slowly painting Elves for a while now. I have always wanted to be able to do the Grudge of Drong campaign- the Dwarves are finished so I need some Elves.

Having said that; the following figures don't feature in that venerable campaign
 
I discovered that I have 2 sets of the Island of Blood set , so work has commenced on the Reaver cavalry . Whenever I start a new unit the first 2 figures are the test pieces where I decide upon the colour choice, so the choice is between a traditional Elven colour scheme of blue and white or a much more more Avant guard scheme of dark turquoise and magenta ( inspired by the work of Volomir) . I am leaning towards the more avant guard scheme but interested in what others think

Those swordmasters were the ones that got me into the hobby! A friend bought a copy of White Dwarf in the month they came out, and I thought they looked so cool, I was hooked.

So I guess you could say they're responsible for this crippling addiction... damn them to hell!

Good job by the way!
 
Love the cavalry. How many more have you got of these? Would love to see a big unit - they would rank up really well in a battlefield
 
Thanks to all for the kind and supportive comments. Just responding to the comments about the Reavers; I have two sets of the Elves from the Island of Blood set giving me a total of 10 Reavers so I have 2 left to do . However, I discovered that I have 2 of the metal ones from back in the day so a unit of 12 is on the cards . I'm thinking of maybe converting a mounted musicia I have also attached a photo of a pair of lion chariots. I painted the one with the standard though looking it I'd like to smooth out the contests a bit.

The next horse archer, I have a few more which I have started. Thankfully this week I have a load of teams related training seminars so I can profitably use that time to paint rather than listen to the tedious twaddle

Reaver 5 . Also the start of a conversion. I just need to get some green stuff to fill the gaps and, if I am feeling adventurous, sculpt some cloth barding for the horse and some scale/lamellar armour for the horse to tie it in with the rest of the unit.

Update with the next 3 reavers. My photography skills ( or lack thereof ) continue to let me down. Plus some Oldhammer proper another Marauder Elf.

I finished another one just before lunch but i am just waiting for the basing gunk to set .

I have the last one left to do who will be a converted standard bearer plus I have a musician conversion to finish . Should have the lot finished by the end of Feb
