Dragon Wings or Dragon on the Run

Okay.. I know of and stuff but.. I've kinda got my first Dragon with No membrane in it's wings and so I have never build the membrane before ^_^ the Wings themselves are sculpted.

I tried using some paper, cut the shapes for the sections, then glue in place... Didn't like it at all.
I tried tissue paper (well.. Toilet roll paper counts as tissue paper right?) with PVA but.. without going over the wing 'frame', it was tricky and the end result.. I didn't like.
I tried using Milliput. I didn't like that at all.

I'll openly admit that my attempts might have failed cause I didn't know what the hell I was doing or going for... Looking online I didn't find too much good (might have to bother with 'video' guides.. ugh.. why have people lost the ability to transcript and type ¬_¬)

Anyway.. So I have no clue how to do Dragon Wing Membrane. Ideas and suggestions about various ways people do which they think work are a welcome ^_^

Look for videos or tutorials on using tissue paper to cover the wing of an RC airplane.
I have a few dragons where the wings were replaced with stained glass.

I suspect toilet paper is too weak to use, I'd either try normal tissues or preferably actual tissue paper. If you've got some wire floating around I'd probably be tempted to make a rough mockup of my wing to practice on. I think I'd probably start with dry (actual) tissue paper and using super glue tack it to a rib, then get it cut nicely to the next rib and again just tack it into place. Then I'd apply some PVA and texture and pose the paper. Been years since I did a balsa model kit, but I remember many a happy hour doping tissue paper on wings (although you probably don't really want a tight wing membrane so not sure aircraft dope is best, probably stick to the PVA). Anyhow I think I'd do a trial run or two first. That's what I did on my Windmill sails. A final thought - kitchen roll wetted then ironed to remove the pattern (which seems ubiquitous on kitchen roll) might be another suitable material.

If you're lacking in "test materials" I know I've got some aluminium armature wire around here somewhere and I stuffed a load of tissue paper in the recycling this morning when my ebay haul arrived so I could pop some in the post - you can have it as a Christmas present - "old wire and tissue" - last of the big spenders that's me! Anyhow shout if that'd be useful.

Sometime ago, someone did a stunning PVA and plant root membrane, which was just layers of PVA and de-barked roots, to form the veins, I tried it, but wasn't happy with the results; so tried thin milliput, very much a work in progress (12 years) shot, but hope this helps

Thanks but I should be good ^_^

surely they cover the frame quite a bit, which would be a problem really.

anyway, Thanks so far ^_^ The Dragon is pretty small, It's "Kevin the Dragon" from Foundry, sculpted by Kev Adams (thus the name). Been thinking about that model for a bit and I was buying something else so decided to throw it in to work the order 'worth it'. It has 3 hands and one alt arm, So I'm building the option where he is holding a book while wearing Glasses. However, I didn't like the angle on the arm with the book as it's more the dragon looking like he is dropping it on the floor, So I've slightly extended the arm just to get the book in a decent position. I'll probably show a photo at some point.

never a fan of tattered dragon wings... apart from the 'no way is this thing gonna fly like that', it's kinda the same as having a person with holes in there arms and legs... well, to me anyway ^_^ fine for zombie dragons but that's about it
