Couple of WFB 5th/6th Questions

WARDUKE

Serf
Hi all,

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am planning on going back with a few friends to play some Warhammer 5th Edition, and had a quick question:

The book mentions both soft and hard cover, but I can't find very many specifics on how you tell if an enemy unit is actually counted as being in soft or hard cover. Is it when half or more of the unit is behind cover from the shooting unit? Is it whether each model is behind cover from each shooters point of view? Is it in the book and I am just missing it?

Following this, we might give sixth edition a go for fun - just using Ravening Hordes lists. In looking at my Skaven army for 5th, and the rules for 6th, it seems like they didn't include the Screaming Bell. Would I have any problems using the points and rules from 5th in 6th Edition for this?

Thanks.

Same answer as before on the bell - really up to your group, you won't find an official answer. I'd probably use the 6th rules over 5th (assuming you have access to the book), but I can't remember if it had any special rules tied to the magic phase. If not, only real difference is unit strength and needing five models per rank to push it?

I remember really enjoying 5th edition for its detailed skirmish rules and the starter bestiary (just a thin booklet) that allowed us to field all of our Warhammer Quest beasts/vilains. We would do skirmish games involving our heros and troops recruited in the cities when travelling to the next donjons...
