Communication Officer Orinoco/Kendall art query

My Blood Angel excommunication officer which I painted some decades ago.

There is pencil artwork of this model on page 92 of the Rogue Trader rule book. I am pretty sure there is another piece of artwork based on the same subject by the same artist but I cannot remember where it was published. Anyone know off the top of their heads?

Based on the signature I think the artwork is by Stephen Tappin, but feel free to correct me. It's possible that the miniature was based on the art. Feel free to correct me on that also.

That's the one. I was looking at the softback edition of Rogue Trader - the inside of the cover is a blank white page.

He's one of my favourite models. Lovely sense of humour in him. I'm still unsure how to paint mine. Mentor Legion I think, maybe?

Ah, the Mary Sue chapter from White Dwarf 98. Special profiles, special bolt guns, and a bunch of magic super-technology.

The uniform looks cool. I do not envy you if you are going to paint that tiny owl face inside a little flag. At my best I would have emulated the stained glass window.

I always completely misunderstood the Mentor Legion. I though they are more, well, mentors. older ones which train the newbies when they need to call in an expert. But instead, they are the gunniepig boys. wouldn't say they fit the Mary-sue type though... maybe the term means something different now?

I was referring to the rules where they are extra-special. The WD98 rules gave troops champion profiles. Targeting webs increased the strength, damage & save modifiers of their guns. Timewarpers allowed them to move at multiples of their M stat. Shift fields reduced opponents' hit rolls.

The background is kinder to them.
