Hey all,
Just wanted to show off a project I recently finished. It's a set of modular scifi buildings and walkways that are also a set of nesting boxes.
Here's a stop-motion video of the bits and how they fit together.
The mechanics of the design's modularity are taken from Wyloch's very excellent Sector Mechanicus Walkways build, but my approach was inspired by some of the box making techniques used by bookbinders. Sage Reynolds has a lot of good instruction on these techniques.
Finally I hand-illustrated the whole set taking inspiration from the aesthetics of Warhammer Townscape and the feel of some of the terrain from Rogue Trader's center leaves.
There are some extra (bad) photos and (vague) details in m'blogpost here.
Though I'm also happy to answer questions or post additional photos if anyone's curious. I'd love to hear what you think!
