Bob Olley Black Orcs?

I was rooting about in my orc boxes looking see what I have as I'm a bit orc-curious lately. I have a bunch of the Bob Olley black orcs, but I noticed two that didn't appear on the image of the range. These two:

Was there a second release? I'd love to know, as there are only 12 in the original range, and I'd love to field a bigger unit if there are more.
 
I can´t tell exactly. Just comparing IronClaw/1991Catalog/Olleys Armies I would say youre right about more Variations. Maybe there is more information on this release in one of the White Dwarf or other publications of that time.

Original 12 listed HERE along with variant at top left on the Olleys Armies site. There were 3 sculpts done later (Two of which you have.) in a smoother style that is closer to Bob's RT Orks. A world of difference between the early & later sculpts!
 
Great, thanks for that. I have 8 of the original 12, plus the two at the top of the page. I dearly love the gnarly style of these orcs, perfect for veteran black orcs. I dream of a unit of 20 or 30.
 
I would say that the Few Marauder Black orcs that were produces are a decent match for these as well (Quite JustJohn!! ;) ) and might be useful for filling out a unit.

Good to see these up here as I have a bunch of them in the post for me now...
Was there any other black orcs maybe by Nick Lund (i know he did some as chronicle minis)? I have others coming but they are not listed on the links

But, but, but...I wasn't even going to comment on this thread :grin: Actually I have a few of the Bob Olley Black orcs and those Marauder Orcs are the best of a bad lot.

And MD yes there are a bunch of Nick Lund Black Orcs which you can find here
 
I was wondering how long it would take before JJ added his orcy tuppence. I like a couple of the Marauder orcs, but they are pretty different from Olley's ones.
 
I was skeptical like you Mr Saturday but they actual rank together quite nicely. They are about the same size and have similar proportions, with a similar PJ I think they could look good. However with a by the book unit size of ten it isn't unaffordable to have a unit of just Olley Black Orcs.
