Blues RT 40k Thread

Hi all,

As my RT project continues to expand and grow...i thought I would start a thread where I can post all my pics as things are finished up...instead of spamming a bunch of different threads.

Here is my first entry...some Orks I painted for the LPL.

Cheers,

Blue

Those are fking awesome , love the vibrant in your face green. You have to tell me how to make those bases!

These guys look great!
They are all from the same period?
Love the color mix, looks divers even if very consistent between models.

They are bloody nice Blue! The bare headed one could have done with a tiny bit more highlighting in the face (he looks a bit flat) but apart from that they're great! Love the detailing on the weapons and the banged up flamer can. I long for when I have the opportunity to paint some of these up!

BTW, I remember you painted your Marauder Orks with a zenithal spray. How did things work out with that - have you returned to dark grey?

Nice work & you have done a great job giving them a unified look. How long start to finish? Given the clean bases, they are obviously invading some Imperial ship. ;)

I'm still wondering why quilted armor was Orky-futuristic to Kev, but I like it. Not sure if it strikes anyone else this way, but I always look at these sculpts & think he must have had some serious production pressure.

I think that I would need to put a lot more experimentation into using the Zenith Highlight system to great effect...Its just SO different from my normal painting style. That said I may try it again because it did really speed things up a bit. Finding the right balance between quality and speed is challenging to say the least...plus I'm hypercritical of my own painting and if the new "system" doesn't produce results that satisfy my eye then it is hard for me to justify the extra time it will take to become competent in that system.

Cheers...thanks for the kind words all! Thanks to Just John I now have a whole new squad of these guys to paint up in the future.
