Blood Bowl (Balls 21.6.2014)

I haven’t painted anything in a long time (due to life constraints and shifting hobby projects :razz:). Now I managed to finish a Chaos Blood Bowl team! I had (and have) other teams in various stages of painting, but this was the one that was easiest to finish for a league starting in June. I just made it… the team is called “Manly Manners”.

I did the numbers on the bases with (too thick) pencil. I might return to shading and some other details, but with these I can start to play :) Any comments and suggestion are welcome.

Annoyingly too good as usual. Awhite and yellow colourscheme is a very original one an dit works splendidly to enhance the "sportive" look of th eteam while still looking chaotic. I like it a lot.

Beautiful! I particularly love Bilerot - one of my favourite chaos model and he looks great!

How is it I never noticed the cheerleader has 3 breasts before?!

You're not a boob-man? I think the model was quite nice to paint and it's a good sculpt, apart from the skull-thing in the right hand and the tail.

My favourites are Dorkjak Sureclaw an the ubiquitous "Chaos Player 1"!

Nice choice of colours there. I've always been a fan of orange and white - and yellow and white. Good choice of minotaur too.

I knew that the cheerleader had three boobs, but I always thought that it was a man with three boobs until I saw this one.

Whatever the brief was for that model, the scuptor certainly succeeded on the confusing/disconcerting front :)

Cracker job mate, great muted scheme, and fantastic brushwork, that white armour just looks amazing

Funnily enough I just noticed that for the first time as well, but that's what you get with great paintjobs it really brings out the best out of a great mini

That's a great looking team you've got there! I've got a Chaos Pact team made from the classic models you've got in there and they were fun to paint.

Have you any more pictures of that pitch? I've got "make BB pitch" on my (very) long list of "one day" projects... :roll:

The field is not yet finished but I guess I could take some more pictures.

I had some spare time and I decided to paint a quick wizard for BB. I tried some contrast stuff with this. A weird model: the detail was not very good and some sculpting decisions felt strange. I guess Citadel made so many wizards back then that they run out of ideas once in a while :razz:

I finally completed my Blood Bowl Field!

The thing comes in two parts. There are small magnets that hold it together. The scoreboard is separate (magnets keep it in place too). It is basically a couple of sheets of foam board on two pieces of cork (office) board. Squares and sand areas are made with Vallejo pumice.

The borders and the scoreboard are balsa wood. The dugouts, turn/reroll/weather tracks and diagrams are made with pieces of differently coloured marble (bound together with Vallejo pumice).

Numbers on the track and sponsor banners are printed paper. Scoreboard tokens are painted 20 mm bases. The scoreboard includes two magnets on the sides – one can attach corresponding team logos (40x20mm) on these.

Beautiful! I would dearly love such a board to use myself. I love all the advertising hoardings and everything which gives it that sporting feel :)

I painted the team logo (this also illustrates how the scoreboard is supposed to work). It's 20 x 50 mm, not 20 x 40 mm as I stated earlier :oops:
